Does anyone know anybody out there that could reball a graphics card in a monitor?

i don't, but you may be able to fix it yourself by reflowing in an oven. IS this an all-in-one PC? most monitors don't have the same sort of GPU in them as a PC would.

For what it's worth, I was able to fix the logic board of my sony FW900 this way, but then thy flyback died and I threw it out anyway after salvageaing it for parts.
Led on esc dead, because bad desoldering
(Attachment Link)
how to repair? :)
gonna be hard. You can solder to the resistor and power lead on the USB, but then it's on all the time.
There are other possible fixes too, like heating up the lead itself a lot and flowing a ton of solder down there, you can sometimes get it to bond to the pad on the other side of the pcb.

Best of luck.

@dorkvader - I'm going to try the baking process but from what I've been told that is a temp fix.

I would like to get the logic board reballed eventually though.

Thanks for the advise.

I was under the impression that only 6KRO is achievable over USB, but I've seen a few boards that seem to achieve higher rollover with only a single USB plug. I am using a Leopold FC200RT/KB and am able to light up as many as 16 keys (not including modifier keys, which I understand are registered differently) using http://www.microsoft.com/appliedsciences/content/projects/KeyboardGhostingDemo.aspx

Does this mean my keyboard actually has 16KRO over USB, or is there something to this concept I am missing? The board was purchase from elitekeyboards, which even stated on the product page that it only supported 6KRO over USB. I'm a little surprised (not complaining, mind you :))) to see it capable of much more than that.

Actually he is right...
6KRO describes only that your computer registers 6 Keys no matter which 6 keys you press. Most keyboards with 2KRO can register 6 or even more keys when they are in different parts.
In addition to that you can have NKRO over USB with some Keyboards even without special drivers

E only would make sense. Looking at the data sheet E appears to have a horizontal surface and they are used in various POS matrix keyboards which would need a horizontal surface. Thanks for the help!

Check this video out and the pictures in this thread. Also the link in BlueBar's signature will be helpful.

Clipped stabilizers are Cherry PCB stabilizers that have been clipped so that they feel different. To me the standard Cherry PCB stabilizers feel mushy and not crisp like Costar. Clipping the Cherry stabilizers allows the feeling to be there while retaining the ease of Cherry stabilizers (swapping caps is easier with Cherry stabs).

If you don't want to do the simple Google search to find the thread, then maybe you should at least put a little more detail into your response.

It's posted in the OP, but if you want to easily search Geekhack:

- Go to Google.com
- In the search field type in "Site:geekhack.org <your search phrase here>"
- So in this case, the search phrase would be "Clipped Cherry Stabilizers"

The two pieces of plastic that you remove act as dampeners, making the stabilisers feel all mushy.

This mod can also be done on Cherry plate mount stabilisers. Some people have said it wouldn't work on plate mount stabilisers, but I have tried it myself and can confirm it makes them feel a hell of a lot better.

I did not. The stems of plate mount stabilisers definitely come in contact with the PCB, just like PCB mount stabilisers. You don't need to put any tape/cardboard there.

Does the shine 3 have the new cherry stabs that don't need to be clipped?  apparently they were first used on the zero shine series and people were happy not clipping.

Don't think 1.75x caps need a stabilizer.

Supposedly some of the newer keyboards such as the Shine 3 come clipped or are molded differently. However I don't own a Shine 3 so I can't confirm this myself.

Hey guy's, I have had a Das Keyboard Ultimate w/ Blues for about three years now. I'm now looking into another keyboard and was wondering what y'all thought. I am looking for a tenkeyless with brown's. So far the options I have considered are a Leopold FC200RT/AB or a CMStorm Quick Fire Rapid. Out of those two what is the best quality or do you have any other recommendations for ~100usd.

Under $100 I've been recommending the QFR. But if you're willing to bump your budget up $125, you can get a Leopold FC700R from Hendyzone which is really nice. I have a review on the 700R here.

What is the difference between the 700r and the FC200RT/AB?

As far as I know, there are different body shapes/styles, different color offerings on the case/caps, different spacing on the spacebar stems, and different keycap materials.

I believe the 200RT caps are ABS vs the PBT on the 700R.

Just an FYI, I don't own an 200RT.

I might end up going with the FC200R because of it being cheaper than the 700r and I think the branding on the Quickfire Rapid would bother me.

Ok. And if anyone's following this, I can't read. Hendyzone's price doesn't include shipping so that makes the 700R boards more expensive.

Just be sure any spacebars you plan to use in the future are of the 6-post universal variety. Since Leopold cares not for spacebar stabilizer standard spacing.

I also recommend the QFR for the under $100 budget. The branding is now minimal, with just one logo on the back of the keyboard.

The FC200RT/AB does in fact have ABS caps (I am typing on one now). But is it just the 700R has different spacing on the spacebar? I was under the impression that all Leopolds had weird spacing on the spacebar, which meant it would be difficult to use caps designed for other brands. Here is what the spacing looks like on my board. How does it compare to the 700R?

All Leopolds have non-standard spacing on the spacebars, for some reason. But the spacing on the FC200R is fine for Signature Plastics' 6-stem "Universal" 6.25-unit spacebar. They made it compatible with that (and only that) specific model Leopold.

Not that I know of.

I was thinking of making one

But I only have 8 GH caps, not enough to justify making a thread imo

Yeah I only have 7.. Well someone should make one! :D
