No, I didn't mean moogle. I have a moogle from that group buy already. I guess I should have said "WINKEYLESS ADD-ON KIT" as that is what it was called in the Quarzac group buy from last year:
http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=27844.msg526476#msg526476I don't know how many of those "winkeyless add-on kits" were produced for that group buy, but I am assuming if they were offered in the buy that at least some people bought one. If there were none actually produced, please someone let me know.
I also already have a tsangan from Techkeys. Those are leftovers from the group buy run by boost. Let me explain why I am looking for the add-on kit from the Quarzac buy as well:
1. When boost did the tsangan group buy, he got the color codes from Quarzac. I know this because when I asked Quarzac what color codes he used, he said he would tell me the same thing he told boost when he asked also. He also pointed out that he had been asked so many times that he had added it to his sig. If he's reading this, I really appreciated him taking the time to answer my noob questions. Boost posted these color codes in the OP of his tsangan group buy
here2. I have a moogle from the Quarzac buy. I also have a tsangan from the boost buy. When I compare the colors to each other, they just don't match at all. This does not make sense to me, because I know that boost used the same SP color codes that Quarzac told him. I am not suggesting that Quarzac told him the wrong color codes because I just don't know. All I do know is that the colors from the two different buys do not match. I have spoken to other users who expressed the same observations about the boost tsangan not matching very well with existing keys. Maybe there were color variations in the batches of plastic, I know this happens. All I know is what I can see, and I see two very different colors when I compare the keys in my possession.
3. I also know that 7bit has a
picture posted on DT of WYSE keys matched with SP color codes, and these codes are different from the ones boost and Quarzac said were used in their group buys. After reading through the original thread for the Quarzac WYSE group buy, I see that there was some debate and discussion as to which color codes should be used. And I know that the color codes Quarzac said he used are not the ones shown in 7bit's photo. I also know that the Quarzac moogle keys I have in my possession match my existing WYSE keys very well and the boost tsangan keys do not.
4. boost / i3 are using the same color codes for the
current WYSE moogle GB as boost said were used in the tsangan group buy which completed earlier this year.
5. Even if I don't think the colors boost has used / is using are a perfect match, I do want the moogles that are about to be made to match the tsangans that were recently made, of which I own two (one is currently in transit to me). Does this make sense? Since a moogle + tsangan will replace pretty much all of the dark gray keys for a normal ANSI WYSE setup, I don't need the keys to match my exisiting WYSE keys as much as I need the to match each other. I am ordering two of the current moogle kits being offered, and I will have two tsangans made with same color codes, so all of those keys will match each other. If those colors don't exactly match my F-Row or 9 key cluster, I don't mind as much, but I want the keys that sit right next to each other to match. So I want the moogle to match the tsangan.
6. All of that being said, I would also like to own the tsangan set that matches my Quarzac moogle. I am assuming that the "WINKEYLESS ADD-ON KIT" offered through the Quarzac group buy will match the moogle from the same group buy. Therefore, I want a tsangan or "winkeyless add-on kit" from the Quarzac buy last year
I am just hoping that someone who bought one will see this and decide they don't need theirs...
