Rotated out the KPAD+KMAC silver battleship for a TKL Filco with reds in a black KBDMOD aluminum case.  I forgot how much steeper this case was just because of the wedge shape compared to the flat KMAC series, even when you run the same feet/spacer combo.

An old pic, since they are worth a thousand words:

edit: screw it, took a new pic outside just for kicks.

Using the JD40 I just got.  It's pretty trippy typing on it and I keep making a lot of mistakes but it's oddly very fun.

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. Got my first topre, a 104UB and I've been really enjoying it so far.  Granted, I need to give it more time to see if it's more than the initial newswitchtypeOMG euphoria, but still.  I really wish there were a Poker II with topres.

I've been using a Realforce 87UW 55g pretty much since I got it. I switch to another board for longer sessions of CS:GO, but otherwise, I'm quite happy with it.

I didn't think this keyboard would be the end-game, but since using it, I haven't spent nearly as much time endlessly searching for that unicorn board. I don't think this is it, still, but it's as if it's close enough so that I can just enjoy it for a while. (ie. my wallet needs to rest)

I'm just glad you ended up getting it :) I was worried you'd back out!

I also use the RF 55g for short CS:GO sessions when I'm too lazy to switch out keyboards, but my dedicated gaming board is my Filco with Ergo Clear (62g) lubed switches. Video of it below~

I'm glad I didn't back out, either!  Still thinking of picking up a 45g when I have some finances... It will likely either be a HHKB or FC660C.

Using an HHKB Type-S I just got yesterday.  Already pretty used to the layout, though I haven't fallen in love with it like so many seem to have.  Maybe it'll be like topre switches where I'll realize how much I like it when I go back to the norm.  I'm really digging the 60% form factor, though I do find myself missing the arrow keys and numpad at times since I have a couple autohotkey bindings set up with the arrows and they're not quite as nice having to hold down another button.  But it's super nice to have the keyboard centered without issue.

It's not uncommon at all to be underwhelmed by topre switches at first.  It took me a couple weeks to fully appreciate them, not only will you miss them when you go back to using normal keyboards, you might find yourself typing "\\\\\\\\\\\\\\" a lot when you go for the backspace key.  :))

Oh, I know about the topre switches thing, that's why I mentioned it.  They were kinda neat but not mindblowing when I first tried them.  But after a bit, I went back to my trusty cherry keyboards and they were kinda eh.  And going back to my membrane keyboard at work was bad enough I decided to take my realforce there and buy the HHKB for home.  And backspace positioning is definitely one thing that's gonna bother me going back to a normal layout, same with ctrl.

o_O nice! My Type-S will land tomorrow, can't wait. You have a Realforce 55g, right? How do you like it in comparison to your new HHKB? Do you prefer the heavier switches on the RF?

I don't have a 55g, I have one of the variable 104-key boards.  I was thinking about getting a 55g and maybe harvesting it for the HHKB if I like it, but I think I'll wait on that since I'm spending too much money on keyboards right now as it is.

Unfortunately using this until the new keys for my WASD come in. But it's one of the best chiclet keyboard I've ever used!

That looks awesome.

On the side note, using a Poker 2 with Imsto Plate and lubed ergo clears. They feel different but in a nice way. I still love my Poker 2 with the beast plate and very lightly lubed vintage blacks :P

I'm on a Lenovo x220 laptop keyboard (work computer) and I'm sitting in my office right now.

I know I know, this is all about mech keyboards but I have to say that I am a huge fan of the chicklet keys and most of all...the nub! It is all about the nub. Trackpads aint got nuthin! on the nub. The nub is faster, more accurate, and your fingers are already on the keyboard ready to switch to home row. In addition I have a Logitech Performance MX mouse for when I'm actually at my desk and not up and about solving issues for people.

I've toyed with the idea of getting a mech for work and I've had my eye on a couple models recently. Just need some cash now.

DSA caps are all the same height, which is similar to chiclet laptop keys. So they may be better for helping  someone transition to a mechanical keyboard who really likes chiclet keys. There's a review of them here. http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=49485.0

Oh, shoot, I was talking about the nub accuracy over the trackpad.

But thanks for the link. I will check them out.
