Today I didn't buy a costume for tonight, so I'm thinking of wearing some converse's, some jeans and a tee and going as mediocrity... But maybe that's just too hipster...

Today I wore my costume to work.  Some Saudi girls ran from me.  I stood in the elevator for about 15 minutes, riding it up and down.  A Sri Lankan fellow refused to get on at one point.  I did not speak.

drank until 8am. am a bit disoriented.
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Oil change, tire rotation, front brake replacement, and just found out my rear shock absorbers are leaking. This is going to be an expensive day, but my car has 80k on it, and the brakes and suspension stuff is original equipment. This means much less money for keyboard stuff.  :-\

Bought some metal to make some switch tools of a new design....realized I bought too thick of metal after I cut some too short.  At least it was cheap.  I may be able to thin it and make it usable.  If it works, you can expect pictures of my design and if it goes really well, I'll see about getting a bunch laser cut and made up.

Also dyed a bunch of Model M caps (the $30 M I bought had one piece caps, score) and the case.  The case turned out okay since I couldn't exactly fit it in a pot on the stove, but it still looks good.  Once everything finishes drying, I'll get some pictures up.

There are much worse things you could have done. Sounds like fun.  Now I need to see inf I have SHrek somewhere.  I'm not seeing it on my DVD bookcase, but I feel like I have it somewhere.

And did you really watch Shrek twice in a row, not Shrek then Shrek 2?

Built a bunch of stuff for the house and got more stuff unpacked.

Tonight I started playing with CadQuery (a python parametric scripting framework based on FreeCAD).  If I can master this, all you builders will be in for a treat.  :)  Still just ideas so far, but I have plans to simplify plate design for builders and prototypers who don't know cad.  Think automation...  Enough hints for now.  I need to make sure I can figure out how to do it before I give too much away.  :P

Been working this ****ty janitor job for a month now, time to start filling out real job apps again. I keep telling myself 'OK, today I'll start doing apps again,' then never do it because when I get home I'm exhausted. Today is the day! And dammit, I'm gonna have a real job that I actually look forward to in a few months! It's gonna happen!

Last Thursday I spilled Coke on my Filco. I disassembled it and gave it a thorough cleaning and a quick bath. Working perfectly with no sticky keys.

Today I spilled Tea on my Filco. Not as bad so I haven't done as thorough a cleaning job and it's still drying now.

The growing list of liquids I have spilled on my Filco is as follows:

Sunkist
Dr.Pepper
Coke
Tea

I should probably rethink my "Placing my drink between my arms while at my computer" policy.

I had to replace the "Home" switch after the Sunkist incident because I accidentally tore the entire switch off of the PCB and plate trying to clean it... don't ask, it was before I knew anything about mechs.

Oh well, an excuse to use my JD40 for a while I guess.

****ing cried because we lost to the rams.

THE RAMS
****. Still haven't had a chance to watch it, god damn time difference.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

Yeah I'm still working out the best way to be online and not ruin the game! My job makes it pretty difficult to just disconnect :/

All good man, it happens! Honestly you probably did me a favor, I had a sick feeling we were going to lose after seeing the Ram beat the Shehawks.

Helped a plumber unblock our toilet.  actually unblock about 27 metres of underground pipe, he said it ended up taking to clear the blockage.  Not out blockage - he said it would have been getting worse for a very long time.

Not my first choice of activity on a day off during a 4 day weekend.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada
