It's been about a month and a half since the USPS "delivered" my clacks from the Freedom sale... The tracking info says that they have been delivered but I still don't have them. To make matters worse, the USPS has already denied my insurance claim as well as 2 appeals, so now I'm clackless and out 70 dollars.

Anyone been through something similar? What did you do?

Try hitting up Clack and get verification of your address from him.  You can also see if there are any similar addresses near you and ask your neighbors.

So how does one get into these sales?
It seems like a members only type situation, or am I wrong?
Bro Caps' method seems more transparent.

Just seems odd to me ><
Dibs sales, email lists, etc...yet no sort of sign-up or somesuch.

 ???

Assuming you get your email in fast enough you have a chance to win. There are just a large number of people entering for a relatively small number of keycaps so losing happens more often than none.

I am sure plenty of people get in CC sales who just have accounts to enter for them.

I've had neighbors open misdelivered keyboard stuff, then decide they didn't want to steal it and leave the opened box at my door. Idiot, you were the only neighbor that knew my full name, I know it was you who opened it!

Ah, then I guess the hype for a CC sale is just more low key...

If you check the 4grabs thread when he is running sales there are usually at least 200 people viewing it in the hours/minutes leading up to the sale. To give you an idea, and you don't NEED to be glued to the thread to enter a sale, so I am sure there are even more people who have their email ready and aren't looking at the thread.

The hype is real though :P (The therapy thread is usually most used in anticipation for sales)

Oh no, you'll know when something's happening. It's about as low key as a rabid flaming badger running through a fireworks factory.

The last sale was definitely more subdued but I think that was due to the much shorter lead time between announcement and email time.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

I don't understand distinguishing the package from others. Putting crazy unique art on the package is cool and all (Binge, Hipster4punks) or even small art too (Clack Factory).

But people who know these 'symbols'/names (small percentage yes, although... growing?) KNOW whats inside. Bro Caps also, he puts a sticker on the outside of packages. For what reason? I would be much happier having the sticker inside, unused. As well as having the packages contents more anonymous.

Regardless there is always the return address I guess but it takes more 'work' to spot.

Because building that excitement from the moment you see the package sitting on your doorstep is worth it.  You know what's going to be in that package, and you can't wait to rip it open and see the caps in person.  No more photos on the internet, now it's all real!

The thing is, if there was a Clack sale, I wouldn't even know where to look. :(
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

I think Cottonsox got his earlier this week.

CC had problems with my PO box, so I sent him an alternative address - I am hoping that he just took an extra couple of days to get mine off, and they are still out there on the way to me.

YM88 got his in the last day or two, so I haven't lost hope yet.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. One more week? Maybe? I can't even remember if there was a Halloween sale last year, so much has happened between now and then.
Whatever, here's hoping at another shot at a Jack 'O tri color. Slim to none, considering I'm what, 1/14? But still, there's a chance.

Anyone think CC will give Australia (and Austria) a 10 minute head start again?

Only way I'm likely to get in grumble.

You shouldn't tease us with temptations like that in the therapy thread :p

Thinking about leaving the game to help my mom pay for hip surgery. Convince me one way or the other to/not to go the eBay rout.

The reason I want to use eBay is because I can maximize the amount, and the surgery/aftercare/meds will be very expensive. My mom's 76 and works 2 jobs already, I don't like seeing her like this.

If it is for a good cause like this, yes, I would think eBay is the way. I think many people would be willing to help out. Hope your mom will have a safe surgery!!
