ok, in a similar vein to the desk/setups vein, this thread is specifically about your input peripherals. what combination keyboard/mouse do you use? do you use a mat or a pad of any kind? what about a numpad? let's see how you interface with the matrix.

here's my work setup: HHKB (Pro1 instead of Pro2 because I am a professional first and formost, not a professional, too) and razer abyssus from which i gutted the LED. no frills for me. i have a numpad too but i don't use it much. i wish i could get a beige abyssus...

My girlfriend made me this as a present

It's filled with rice which has a nice feel to it and makes the wrist rest more adjustable

And when I am annoyed at work I can use it as a weapon

DIY Poker X and Apple Magic Trackpad (oh how I loathe that name). For detail work, I switch to a Mad Catz R.A.T.. 9 wireless mouse. I posted more notes on the Flickr photo that explains what's on my desk, for those that are interested.

I have been rotating a little bit though. Last week, I typed on my Duck Poker with MX-Reds and last night I finished fixing another Poker build with MX-Whites. I'll probably rotate that in after hours when I can get away with a bit more noise.

Isn't the whole point of an ErgoDox to be ergonomic with hand position? What is the difference between typing like that and typing on a regular keyboard? Or did you just line them up like that for the picture?

That is actually the most comfortable position for me for the ErgoDox. Had an entire conversation about it in another thread. There's still plenty of benefits left over though

Currently experimenting with the layout of my eDox and various other devices so a potato is all you'll get for now. Proper pics coming when I've found a good set-up and sorted out a bit of cable mess.

edit: for gaming I move stuff around to free up more mouse space, deskmat is really amazing

How's that Goliathus pad? I've been looking for an XXL pad most of today, actually.

It's great, I have both speed and control and they both feel well made and the anti-fray stitching is genius. Neither has seen all that much use yet so I can't say all that much about actual durability yet, but they both feel like they're higher quality compared to my QcK Heavy.

My only gripes are that I'd like it a bit taller/deeper/whatever you wanna call it, although it hasn't been an actual problem for me yet, and it'd be nice to get it without branding. That said, if you have a Razer mouse with green LEDs on the pad they do look good together.

Coming from a QcK and a 4HD, the Shiden is by far my favorite mouse pad, my mouse glides so effortlessly. My only issues are that it's not completely liquid resistant and the white color makes it susceptible to staining. Still haven't tried any of their cloth mouse pads yet.
