Yes! I love mini / micro boards. I've gone from 104 key full size to MS X6 (removable numpad, but with extra macro keys) to Roccat Arvo (numpad changes to arrow and edit cluster) to Ducky TKL to this:

48 key DIY ergo. Loving it and have plans for a 40-key version

I thought about getting a 60% board, but just can't go back to a "normal" physical layout.

I think the issue with this, like many Razer BWU owner can attest is that the extra column somehow screwed up your mind and therefore finger placement. I find myself always typing the wrong word because my mind seemed to think that the keys start at the macro key column of the BWU. And so I always type A when I meant to type a S.

I had a sudden impression when I saw this that the bright red bits on the cable connecting the two halves were lights that flowed along the cable from one side to the other when you pressed a key.

That would be cool

But also probably somewhat distracting.

That's pretty bad-ass. :-)

Do you use it with palm rests? I would probably be less strain on wrists that way.

That could very well be the case. I haven't tried it, so I'm not sure.

If I had my keyboard on a tray, I'd probably prefer a mini keyboard so I'd have room for the mouse.

Yup, for now I'm using a plastic box about the right height, but will make some proper palm rests at some point. Definitely needed for extended gaming sessions.

Don't give me ideas! I have too many projects already!

It would look cool, though. I do plan to put an RGB LED inside each half for general backlighting at some point.

What is this? How have I never seen an MXmini with the 1x mods layout? I thought MXmini had 1.5x mods. Cripes, I designed a whole PCB to get that layout! :facepalm:
