I know these two mice have been on the market for a while, but most reviews don't compare them, there are barely any comments or details of what's really different on them besides the sensor and people end up thinking that the Corsair M65 is just an attempt for Corsair to board the DPI Bandwagon and sell more of the same mice for a higher price (well, I won't deny part of that is true).

But there ARE improvements on the new version of the mouse. And they are:

- Newer left and right button switches, OMRON D2FC-F-7N (20M version). The old one used Omron D2FC-F-7N (10M), which was also good.
- New scroll made by TTC (it's part of a new series of scroll wheels they released in the market). The old one used this unbranded model: http://img407.imageshack.us/img407/1021/b1qz.jpg)
- New (and with a worse feedback) DPI buttons. Check the old ones: http://imageshack.us/a/img34/633/kbg0.jpg
- Painting on the Sniper button is FAR better. It doesn't fades out over time.
- The side plastic surface has been improved (check the comparison: http://img841.imageshack.us/img841/47/xfxa.jpg)

And by the way, the scroll on my Corsair M60 broke after a year of use, a VERY common problem with Corsair mice and probably the reason why they changed their scroll on the new mice (M40, M65 and M95).

The Sniper Button and Side Buttons are still Zhij switches. That's not a very trustworthy brand, but at least it hasn't broken yet.

When you compare them side by side do they still retain the exact same dimensions overall?  No difference in shape and size with the M65 compared to the M60?

No difference on shape or weight.

The shape of the M40/M60/M65 is not very friendly for Palm users and the "hole" on the right side may be annoying, especially for them..

But it's an awesome shape for Claw and Fingertip users, especially after you remove all of its weight.

You should really have your own section just for reviews - I'm very impressed.

The M65 was designed to be an upgrade to the M60 to implement some changes people had requested through feedback. Since the sensor was being changed to a higher DPI, we figured why not make some other modifications too? I do agree the palming of it isn't comfortable but that was what the M90/M95 was designed for since we figured people would palm a mouse with multiple buttons on the side whereas a M60/M65 would be easier to claw and lift while gaming.

Let me know if you have any questions. I'd be more than happy to answer.

Hey, thanks for the review! I've been eyeing the M65 as a replacement for a while now.

Actually, I already do reviews, though they're all in Brazilian Portuguese:

Mice:
Roccat Kone Pure (8.5/10): http://www.criminalcafe.com/showthread.php?t=14388 (awesome internals, nice software, nice shape, horrible price)
Corsair Vengeance M65 (8/10): http://www.criminalcafe.com/showthread.php?t=14377 (terrible software, nice internals and awesome shape)
CM Storm Recon (7.5/10): http://www.criminalcafe.com/showthread.php?t=12527 (awesome internals, average software, nice shape)
Logitech G700 (8/10): http://www.criminalcafe.com/showthread.php?t=13579 (awesome software, average internals, good shape for Palm)
Logitech G9x (7/10): http://www.criminalcafe.com/showthread.php?t=14182 (awesome software, terrible internals, awesome shape for Claw and Fingertip)

Keyboards:
CM Storm Quick Fire Rapid (9.5/10): http://www.criminalcafe.com/showthread.php?t=12721
CM Storm Trigger (8.5/10): http://www.criminalcafe.com/showthread.php?t=11925
Corsair K70 (8/10): http://www.criminalcafe.com/showthread.php?t=14375
Tt eSports Meka G-Unit (6/10): http://www.criminalcafe.com/showthread.php?t=14358
Logitech G710+ (7/10): http://adrenaline.uol.com.br/forum/hardwares-em-geral/491765-review-logitech-g710.html

Anyways, don't take me wrong, I love the shape on the Corsair M40/M60/M65 and I even ordered a Corsair M40 last week, but I know lot of people who don't like them and they also don't like the M90/M95 exactly because of the extra buttons and the fact that Corsair's software just isn't good or reliable (I lost count of how many times my M60 got its firmware corrupted while changing DPI on the software and I had to re-update it to make it start working again. Fortunately, this bug was fixed with July 2012 patch but the fact that Corsair's software still has quite a lot of bugs remains).

Lots of people would be happy if Corsair started working on a "Corsair M70", with a more basic palm-style shape and with only two side buttons. Add some futuristic tones just as with the M60/M90 mice and Voilą! ;)

Would love to see that.  I agree with only having 2 side buttons on the mouse (don't get obsessed with adding unrequired buttons) .  Also make it a little more slanted away with the right hand position to fit easily with basic ergonomics.  That way we can all play longer with a rodent that doesn't hurt your hand/arm.

Please let Corsair stand out with a unique mouse product in the next few years  :thumb: .  I never owned a Corsair before but would definitely buy the NEW model when it's released.

I have the Corsair M65 in white and I like it pretty well so far :)

I don't really care much for the software either, but I like the shape and aesthetics, build quality is nice too.

I half a weird half palm half claw grip which I like to call the Velociraptor griptm
I basically put half of my palm on the back of the mouse and have my fingers arched over the mouse buttons.
I personally find the M60 extremely comfortable, however there are a couple of issues with the M60.
The first one is that the scroll wheel is a bit loose and it sometimes has a bit of a sensitive click to it which thankfully doesn't actuate the button as well.
The sniper button is not very durable either. I use this as an alternate middle click since I use that button extremely frequently and it is loose in the sense that the physical button floats a millimetre away from the switch itself resulting in a very loose feeling.
Other than a couple of annoying flaws, this thing is the perfect shape for me and has a great ID to it.

I love my M60. And soon as it dies I'll order a new M65

I was wrong, TTC has a new line of scrolls on which it says "TC" just like that. Lack of information and research made me do that mistake.

Anyways, so far it seems like a hell of an upgrade compared to the old brandless scroll wheel.
