And not knowing where the career will take me in the next few months really makes this kind of impossible.

I became lactose intolerant coming up on 4 years ago and it really sucks. Some of my favorite things are chocolate milk, ice cream, and various cheeses and now they induce terrible IBS episodes. I still cave and eat them, only to face inevitable pain and regret later.

The same thing happened to me. I also can't eat naturally lactose-free hard cheeses, as they are too hard on my digestive system.

However, I've been working on a few things and I'm hoping to take the IBS-world by storm with happiness the happiness of delicious cheese.

Also, a trick I've learned with Chocolate Milk and other liquid dairy products (even cream cheese and yogurt) is to crush up a lactose digestive aid with a mortar and pestle or use a liquid one and mix it into the product I wish to consume after its been sitting for 24 hours. I've found without the lactose these things tend to stay good longer as well. Note: you can't make cheese out of this type of milk or cream though, as it's the lactic acid being produced that gives dairy cheese its flavor.

my most epic move was 850m (the distance between the old flat and the new one).
(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

Yeah. I miss cheese a ton. That's the thing that even Lactaid pills won't save me from. If it's a cheese cube I ate, that equals a noxious teargas fart. If it's more, the IBS hits. I thought I was going to die on the toilet recently. I had a banana split, chocolate, milk, and a bag of shredded cheese. In my delirious sleep deprived and PMS state, I didn't care until later. That was a mistake I won't make twice. I'm stuck buying Lactaid milk and the lactose free yogurt or the kind that has minuscule amounts. I traded pudding for Jello to be safe.

There is no silver lining. I weigh 80 pounds. I could use some fat. I probably have celiac in fact but my doctor is a complete idiot or something.

TV/Internet cable services cut out at my house yesterday. The best option for support was for me to wait until the next day until a tech arrives to assess the situation.

The most pertinent information received from the support calls is "yeah there is no signal going to your house". The bill is paid. No change physically in coax routing whatsoever. Seriously, that is the best they could offer.

Maybe there is more to our toaster ban than first meets the eye!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

If you dine-in with them, their burgers and fries are a step above fast food. But if in-n-out were on the east coast, I'd go there any day over most burger joints.

habit is so much better than 5 gives and in n out

Habit's pretty good.  Counter ain't bad, either.  I'm still partial to the Father's Office burger, though.

i've seen that place near HD Buttercup, but I was there too early to try it. They seem to have a pretty good selection of beer too.

Ahhh, yeah, the one on Helms, right?  That's their second location.  It's not bad but not as good as the original over in Santa Monica on Montana.  They carry a lot of local brew and generally have a great selection.  Helms location has more students and it's usually a younger crowd.  Santa Monica is full of regulars and an ******* of a chef but damn, the man can cook.  If you ever make it to that one, tell the bartenders you know the Asian Jon.  Falcon and Emily will take care of you.

I hadn't drank milk or had it with cereal for about three years...

...until this week. Big mistake.

To me, milk (by itself) just doesn't have much benefit after the first years of life anyway.

I just got five guys to-go and when I get home I realized that they gave me regular fries and not cajun fries..  >:D

I was disappointed in them and their fries when I tried them. Maybe it's because I got their meatless version, but it was mediocre at best.

I like them, but i have to be really craving the greasiest food on the planet, because that's what it is.

I go there about once a year on a school trip. We figured out that one order of fries was sufficient for 4 of us. I still prefer Jack In The Box for burgers. They aren't bad though.

I'm currently bothered by IBS not induced by eating milk products or volatile spicy food.
