Vortex, just copy cherry legends. They're tried and true, and having tooling for cherry legends will get you more money than this and the italicized set together. Plus there isn't any copyright issues (i think) as sp has already made tooling for them

I have a set of the blacks coming, should be here in 2 or 3 days.
I've looked at those photos and I don't see anything that looks off center. I think they look great, but I'll know for sure in a few days when my order comes in. I can't hardly wait, I think these are going to be some great keycaps. Well, I hope so anyway!

We love them, and I loved the blue so much I picked me up a set! So glad I did, they feel amazing.

I couldn't believe that they actually made PBT double shot...

I wounder how vortex tooling is different from sp tooling. SP tried to do PBT DS before, but it wasn't that good quality when it was cooling

It comes out as a goldish color more than yellow, but yes, they are more yellow than white.

Just picked up a blue set from mechanicalkeyboards.com, can't WAIT to get them installed in my Filco.

I hope the white doesn't get too dirty, but at least the thick PBT will be resilient to tough cleaning. I really hope vortex makes a poll for future sets, and maybe just sell some changed modifiers for people who already bought a vortex set.

Why, because of customs or do you think the general shipping cost from US->Fin is too steep? If you're worred about the import fees, just use a GH proxy. First class int'l shipping isn't very expensive for a set of keycaps either.

It just seems silly to pay shipping to US plus US import plus US vendor markup and then also Int'l shipping plus Finnish tax plus Finnish customs duty and have to go to the customs office to wait in long queues to pay and collect the package... for a set of keycaps. If they're available from within Europe I pay just shipping and tax (on top of shipping to EU, import and EU vendor markup), no customs and they arrive within a day or two in my postbox. Cheaper, quicker and much more convenient.

This exactly. I've ordered a set from MechanicalKeyboards and after two weeks it is STILL at customs clearance in the US (ordered from EU). It is not shipped, not handled even at the customs office in my country (Netherlands). I think it'll probably take around 6-7 weeks total before I have friggin' caps. Indeed not having mentioned the import tax.

Btw, I have never understood import tax? I understand governments and such just want to make more money IMHO, but I've always took it that you have to pay import tax because you "could have gotten a comparable alternative in your own country". However, tell me where I should get doubleshot PBT's in the Netherlands? I can't even buy a mechanical keyboard or appropriate lube in regular stores here. The store 'nearest by' is amazon co uk with keyboard company or sometimes amazon de. Anyway, so much for the frustration :-P

But I'll think twice ordering again for "only keycaps" from the states being an EU resident.

Define vibrant. They are a red that will need to grow on you. Kind of like somewhere between Fire Engine Red and Brick Red. IMHO the only color that *POPS* in these sets is the Blue. It's Royal Blue, and awesome...

Just a note on these, my first set I orderd one of the white keys ( in the blue set ) has a really big pigment of blue to it, so the QC problems are still around.

I had to order another set, and once my new set comes in I'll be sending the defective set back for a refund. ( didn't want to have to ship my old set back, wait for them to inspect it, and to mail me a replacement set, just to exchange one key )

I'm seeing a lot of mumbo jumbo on how there are shrinkage issues with doing double shots on PBT plastic. Is Vortex's line of double shot PBT caps truly PBT? What's going on here? Did they figure out the universal secret to manufacturing perfect double shot PBT caps?

I can do a water test confirmation. I have an ABS double shot coming in soon. So I can set up a comparison with my double shot PBT Vortexes.

In a recent comparison though, I feel like Vortex's PBT double shots have a smoother more ABS feel than traditional PBT such as on a Realforce. Dunno. I mean, it's a different story for the Model M, those are PBT dye sub, but they are smooth textured (at least on mine).

Anyways, will update when I do the water test.

Either way I'm not a fan of the legends maybe in the future if they fix it I'll consider picking up the sets I want.

They are slightly biased to the right, but it doesn't bother me personally. I actually think it might even be intentional.

So I did performed a water test on my ABS double shot compared to my Vortex PBT double shot. The Vortex dropped instantly while the ABS dropped slower like it was floating down (almost like how a feather falls through the air). I also dropped a PBT from a Realforce kb and a PBT from a Model M and they both did the same as the Vortex. Confirmed that it's PBT.

I don't know Finland's import rules, but if you use a proxy you would avoid having to pay VAT. Shipping a set of keycaps from the US shouldn't be more than $10.
