I believed he already said he'd ship all the remaining R1 by the end of last month if that doesn't happen yet, I don't have any hope of seeing my R2 before the end of  this year.  :'(

I talked with sprit when I paid the shipping for the R2 stuff (PCB, case + springs), he told me that the 60% PCB's should be out of the factory this week and shipping should start soon. So I would not worry

OK at least I know 60% R2 won't be too long to get produced but my order is with 87% one and from last update they seems to don't have enough orders for the factory SMD pre-soldering. So I don't know what they're gonna do at the end. I hope they'll update soon.

I was wondering if anyone might have a few pointers for me.

I'd like to install one LED on my 75% board (at the spacebar) and have it light up whenever I toggle the FN3 layer. Would this be just installing a LED with resistor at that location and changing the keymap?

Thanks. :)

im intereseted in the acrylic pates, but not so much in the case itself. Will the acrylic plate fit in a 60% FMJ or a Filco/ONI TKL??

Hi Zeal,

Could you please get R1 order updates for us? I haven't heard anything about my personal order in months, and have quite a few dollars invested in this GB.

Thanks!

Updates would not only be nice, but at this point are necessary. There are more recent updates and comments by Sprit in his other buys that haven't been delayed many months. I joined this buy in good faith and the lack of clear, accurate communication is beginning to make me feel that good faith was misplaced. When I joined, I included metal plates in my order that I only recently found out, through this thread- not by Sprit- will not be produced. Additionally, there were promises of metal cases, which never came to fruition. Consequently, I have a lot of dollars invested in parts that I will have to source other materials to turn into something resembling what was initially described by Sprit. Still, I am only now complaining because of the lack of Sprit's presence in the communication of these issues, and especially the unbelievably long delay in delivering what is supposed to be shipped. He has had no problem communicating or fulfilling orders in his other buys, which we have been told have not taken away his attention from fulfilling his promises in this 1st buy. If he was  a vendor I would have demanded a refund. I apologize for the negativity, but I think is is deserved in this case.

My proposal would be to post a list of all customers by nickname with delivery status, so everyone can see that something is progressing, e. g.
nickname1 order status: shipped
nickname2 order status: shipped
nickname3 order status: in work
nickname4 order status: in work
nickname5 order status: in work
nickname6 order status: in work
nickname7 order status: in work
nickname8 order status: in work
nickname9 order status: in work
nickname10 order status: in work
nickname11 order status: in work

etc. pp.
I think this would calm down the people _alot_!

Apologies for the lack of posts. I returned back from Asia late Friday, and jetlag's been really messing with my schedule. Living off of free WiFi for a week is also a PITA when most require you to already have a cellphone # with the Asian cellphone carrier :))

So while I was in Taiwan, I arranged to meet Sprit for 2 days in Korea. We talked a bunch, and I've asked him about updates and schedules for everything.

R1 - He's focusing on hand soldering all the remaining PCBs. To speed up the process, remaining R1 60% PCB orders will be swapped with presoldered R2 PCBs when they come out from the factory sometime this/next week. He told me that he wants to finish soldering the remaining R1 orders within a month's time. No more new group buys from Sprit until R1 and R2 are complete.

R2 - Non 60% PCB size orders: Orders for these other sizes are very low, and will most likely have to be hand soldered with Sprit's existing R1 75%/87%/100% PCBs.

@henz
60% acrylic plate fits 3 of the standoffs on the FMJ case.

@Zeal

I'm one of the R1 guys with a 110% pcb on order. Please tell Sprit that he doesn't have to solder my board (resistors/diods). I'm fine with doing that myself. I hope that helps to speed things up.

I'm in R2 for a 110% PCB. No case. I would not mind hand soldering the PCB if it would speed up delivery and lighten the burden on sprit.

Sprit, I've been asking for a refund for over a week now and you have ignored me this entire time. This is not a negotiation, this is a refund. This is unacceptable behavior from a group buy. At this point, to me you're just a scam artist. I have asked for a refund. Refund me my money.

I'm confused where you got the impression that you're guaranteed a refund from a GB

Unlike retailers who buy parts and then wait for people to buy it from them, sprit bought the parts because _you_ gave him money to order it _for you_. It's unfortunate that he hasn't done his end of the bargain, but this is fundamentally different from a retailer. A retailer buys items and hopes to sell them as part of their business model. A GB is a bunch of people trusting one person to do the work of ordering some good and shipping that good to them. Notice how those responsibilities don't include "sell extra items to anyone who wants to buy them." It doesn't include "advertise items for other buyers". And perhaps most relevant, it doesn't include "offer refunds if someone decides they don't want the thing they paid for anymore." Hence it isn't fair to expect a refund. Consider the case where someone decides 24 hrs after orders are made that he wants his $3000 back. Now the guy running the GB is screwed? Hence you _can't_ make any guarantee of refunds in a GB. You could propose something like "I guarantee that if I don't get the item to you in a month then you get a refund" but no such proposal was made or agreed upon.

Keep in mind, it isn't fair for him to not ship while giving ridiculous excuses for an entire year. But! The two notions of fairness are orthogonal

IMO, whining isn't going to do you much, maybe you should do the Paypal thing instead

To be fair, **** is moving out, people are getting stuff, and it's been less than a year since most people paid. It's still faster than the GH60 GB I'm still waiting to ship to me.  I've already received my Sprit PCB and springs and the GH60 hasn't even shipped.  It's still moving faster than a lot of GBs.  There were a few problems that Sprit resolved and is slowly working through.  I'd be impressed if someone working full time could execute a GB of this size and complexity faster than Sprit has.  Is it disappointing that it isn't faster?  Yes, but things are happening and there are way more updates here than in other GBs.

Sprit has told me there were some issues with the production of the 60% PCB's and some parts had to be replaced. He is working in it, there is no reason to worry, we will get our stuff :stuff:
GB's require a special commitment, it's not like you order from Amazon. When you join a GB expect some delays.

My only disappointment is I'm so damn excited to start building. I can't imagine how much work it is for him on top of his well...work. So many different options, pieces, and orders to keep track of. Yeah, more updates would be great, but I imagine he's doing his best to keep everyone happy and he's upfront about it all.

Sprit is doing a good job considering he is still working also on R1. We will get our stuff, I have a felling it will be a Christmas surprise ;)

Keep in mind, it isn't fair for him to not ship while giving ridiculous excuses for an entire year. But! The two notions of fairness are orthogonal

I don't think there's a point in comparing it with like, the worst GB in GH's history. He _made_ a large number of the problems that he's working through. No one asked him to order without hitting MOQ. No one asked him to ship back springs that had flaky gold plating. No one asked him to make the GB so complicated that it got out of his hands. He made these decisions himself. He should own up to it. That doesn't mean posting useless updates to this thread (although to be fair, equally pointless solicitations for updates have been made consistently every week for an entire year). It means he allocates 2 hours in his weekend to dump **** in a box and drop it off at the post office. It means telling the people who want him to solder SMDs that they'll probably have to wait an indeterminate amount of time. Because, honestly? He _probably doesn't feel like soldering them or else he would've done it already_. And for the people who don't want to wait forever, they should suck it up and take the raw parts. Instead he posted a "I'm sorry. I'll be done soon. Thanks." I call that ridiculous. OTOH he's kept so many things secret I'm sure 400 other issues have come up in the complexity _he_ created (which is _not_ the same as a lack of foresight)

So far sprit has been a great guy and has put together some very ambitious products and buys. There is currently no reason to think he wont follow through. I think some people here need to back off the loud-pedal using the word scam so freely.

I remember a time when someone would have killed for a set of korean springs.
I can only speak for myself, all i know is that him is soldering my pcb at no further cost to honor his words and all i can say is: thank you Sprit.
