Finally got around to posting a picture of this set temporarily on my QFR at work:

They look and feel great!. As I mentioned previously, I stuck some little squares of tape (not pictured) on F & J so I could figure out where my hands are. Anyone else having trouble adjusting to the num row being the same profile as the alpha rows? It's not really impacting my typing much, it just feels a little off.

Ya, I love this set.  It photographs so well too.  It is just a beautiful piece of work.  There are so many little things that I just love.  The extra keys are great.  Both novelty, and tick and pipe in both colors.  The fact that the lettering on the alphas is like a charcoal blueish grey, it just fits the pallet so beautifully.  Really loving this set so far.  Even getting used to not using o-rings, but I am looking forward to using silicon balls to see how they feel.

Silicon balls?

It's an idea from the 'trampoline mod' thread. Here is where mine are coming from:
http://imsto.cn/index.php?route=product/product&path=61&product_id=88

Basically you put a soft ball in the center of the bottom switch housing. This causes the stem to hit the ball first when the switch is depressed.

I believe clicky switches have a slightly longer stem than non-clicky, so there will be more travel reduction with them. I have not tested to verify this, but I will include these tests in my o-ring guide when I write it...

Since o-rings can not be used with SA caps, I am hoping this is a way to completely avoid o-rings on my boards while still getting soft dampening.

Don't sweat it, because SP had lapsed when producing some keys so Bunny is making sure it all goes out to everyone with what they ordered.  So that means waiting will be inevitable for all concerned.

The US crowd isn't the only ones still waiting for their key-sets so just trust in Bunny and his crew to finish shipping everything out.  I've never been ripped off by CTRL/ALT because they have delivered everything I have paid for thus far.

Although I am still confidently waiting for my Penumbra Set to arrive here as well.

You're not the only one here, I still am salivating for mine to arrive at my address.

The Penumbra will be the most desired key-set for some time to come, I don't think you'll see many being sold in the classifieds unless the seller is a complete moron to give them up.

This set has helped me realize the awesome that is the SA Profile.  I also have had people stopping by my desk asking about my keyboard daily since I got the Penumbra. I wasn't sure how I was going to like them at first but now I want all the keyboards to be decked out with "all the SA!"  Thanks Ctrl Alt for the awesome key cap set.  :thumb: I'm very glad this was my first GB!

You lucky devil, getting in on the ground floor of Excellence here  :thumb: .  Nice to see another SA Lover who has seen the light of perfection when it comes to this particular profile.  Of course the SA profile looks spectacular when placed into a full sized keyboard like any standard Filco, Ducky or Cherry G80 3000 series.

Seeing all those beautiful keys lined up for your impending use is like a Concert Pianist getting ready to perform a fantastic musical set.  They make a perfect sound when used on any standard Ergo-Clears, Greens and the God switch, all Greys  8) .

Over time as more of your keyboards start furnishing these brilliant profiles you will know what true nirvana is like, when it comes to using your keyboards to type anything.

Hey guys, have the left overs from this buy been sold yet or are they waiting till after everyone's has been shipped from the actual buy? If not, does anyone know roughly when they'll be going up?

Shipping is still on going.  Bunny will update the thread when we get closer to selling the extras.  There will also likely be a message on Ctrl Alt when they go up for sale as well.

Yea, I didn't get in on this and wasn't really sure if I would like them...but wow, I want this.
I'd HAVE to have the white alphas instead though. Don't really care for the base alphas, they look to yellow for me (wish they were more of a tan color).

I love seeing your posts, beautiful photos as always! This makes me so excited to get my set, it's gonna be a super sweet surprise when they show up and then I panic trying to figure out what to do with my granite set because I *need* these on my Poker II! Maybe I'll get lucky and Massdrop will deliver first... :))

You're not the only one here, I still am salivating for mine to arrive at my address.

The Penumbra will be the most desired key-set for some time to come, I don't think you'll see many being sold in the classifieds unless the seller is a complete moron to give them up.

I love how we always seem to be in the same GB's, whenever I'm worried a package might have disappeared I just check to see if you've got yours yet haha

Is it just me or is US post to WA taking way longer than usual? Seems like my last 5-6 packages have all taken over a month to arrive when they used to arrive in less than a fortnight.
It's a good width!  If it's half-width it's too narrow, and full-width is too wide.

i'm going to sell mine, because i don't like the SA profile. i have bought into the GB and while it was going on, i bought the filco sphericals SA caps and used those. SA is not for me and i will be selling the penumbra set.

i take offense in your post and generally in your derogatory attitude towards forum members who don't share your point of view on a given matter.

This is Geekhack so get use to it  :p .  Its like any other forum site, so your opinions are just yours so if you are easily offended or disturbed with anyone's posting then sunshine, pull out the modem cable and go outside and experience real human interaction.

Depending upon where you live you might still find Geekhack way safer  :thumb: .

it's really funny, you're the only truly offensive person calling everyone who doesn't agree with you names. haven't seen anyone else on this forum doing it and i'm truly puzzled why you're tolerated around here. if i was a mod, you'd be long gone.

all your drama stirring anti-SP crusade, insulting people left and right....i am truly sorry for the people who have to live with you day in, day out IRL. must be a real treat.

elrick is just passionate sir, he is certainly eccentric (hope he doesnt mind me saying that) but he doesnt mean to cause offence, he just strongly believes in his own opinions , behind the scenes and in private, he is a very kind and understanding individual and i have dealt with him many time

there are many people on geekhack who are down right nasty pieces of work, but elrick isnt one of them, as i say, he is just a super passionate individual and although you may take offence to what he says, i dont believe his intention was to offend you, but that he was just using language he believe expresses his points

Geez when I have Bunny defending me to another person here, it's like a mate paying for a pint when not asked for.  Bunny is first and foremost a 100% decent individual here on Geekhack and I won't have him defending me to others here who think I am being 'rude' and 'offensive'.  It's not in my nature to apologize for anything because it aint a Convict's Demeanor to ever say sorry.

When you spend time in prison there are no instances to ever say sorry because it's usually sorted between the opposing parties, very quickly.  Time to harden up  8) .

Hey guys another quick question on this set since I'm getting really keen on them. I just noticed that they're ABS. Now I'm a bit of a keycap noob but the impression I had was that ABS was of lower quality to PBT, in that it shines relatively quickly and can suffer from discolouration over time. Can anyone help me figure out if these concerns are well founded or just stigma?
