HHKB Pro 1 vs Pro 2
« on: Wed, 19 February 2014, 13:40:13 »
I'm having trouble finding a definitive explanation so I wanted to ask: what is the difference between the HHKB Pro 1 and Pro 2, and if I wanted to obtain a Pro 1 for collecting purposes, how difficult would it be? I've only seen one or two floating around on here.

IIRC, the Pro1 doesn't have a USB hub and the USB-in connection is situated more towards the right-hand side of the board than on the Pro2.

As AKIMbO said, Pro1 has no crappy hub, due to this you will have no problem even when hook up to iPad.

Other than that, Pro1 has classy old green mold Topre proprietary sensor chip TP1683 instead of TP1684. This is a musthave for a Topre collector :D

Though, if you are a HHK collector, I think you should go with PD-KB01 before Pro1.

Could you tell the production date of this Pro1's? That's amazing!
I see some photos about Pro1's chip is changed to TP1684 on PCB... may be later version of Pro1?
