@ron, wasn't this semi-matte finish?

you can't have row4 mods in semi-matte. (also spacebar is row3)

Thanks for the explanation, Sam! Sorry for throwing a spanner in the works...

To be honest, my ultimate dream version of this set would use Row 1 for F-keys AND numbers, row 2 for top row alphas, row 3 for mid, row 4 for bottom row alphas AND mods with row 3 spacebar, something like this:

72758-0

But I'm aware it will not be feasible for this GB. Also, it seems SP don't have molds for a 2x row 1 key, so backspace can't be row 1....  :( My big gripe is typing on non-sculpted alphas, particularly the bottom row of alphas for some reason.

But then again, the picture rowdy posted looks so darn good..... I'd order a sculpted kit even though it will have different surface finish on certain keys (1.25x mods have to be matte). SP's "matte" finish SA profile keys have semi-matte sides, just the top surface is matte, so they won't look out of place, IMHO.

Typing on Calm Depths now with sculpted F1 and R2 key sections and all have that same matte finish on them.  I don't know where you heard that only certain keys shall be finished differently?

The whole keyboard looks nice with the same surface finish on the upright face of all the keys displayed  :thumb: .

Oh... interesting. According to the SA profile document from SP's site they can only do 1.25x row 4 keys in matte finish. The rest of this set is supposed to be semi-matte I think.

Well, regardless, this is going to be a nice set :)

Yes.  This set is 100% semi-matte finish.  Sorry; I know the spacebar is Row 3 - did I type it wrong somewhere?

It looks to me as if the only impacted keycap in the SP SA portfolio that cannot be semi-matte is the 1.25 R4 key.  Perhaps -- depending on the set price as-is -- we could have that one mold made semi-matte.  Let's see what M says about cost first.

And remember everyone: this is not even a proposed add-on kit yet.  Just checking prices.

p.s.  Oobly; I blame Rowdy.  Also, that sounds like a nice set of sculpted alphas, but as you say, it isn't feasible for this set.

This. Row 3 for bottom row sucks feels awkward on my KB coming from DCS.

The best thing about this from IC to now (besides the awesome colours) has been the old skool all R3 SA profile.  :thumb:

(although I'll probably also buy the addons too - please, take my money)

Too late, there’s a couple of new Model Fs on the way.
Too much SA is never enough.

That was easily the most civilized insult war I've seen on the internet.

Ok, Since VesperSAINT's keyboard looks so awesome, AND because all of the alphas are Row 3 profile anyhow, I'm going to ask for pricing on the following add-on kit.  NOTE: I'm just asking about pricing; I have not committed to adding this to the "Nuclear Data Green Old-Skool (SA Row 3 Profile) Keycap Set".

(Attachment Link)
Potential add-on kit to the SA Row 3 Profile set.

This would be an extra-cost add-on kit.  As far as I can tell, it would retain the ability for Dvorak and Colemak using the alphas from the base kit.  It also provides an answer for the people who are going to want to put numpad-style numbers on the top row.  I have included a sub-set of bottom-row mods for both modern and winkeyless keyboards.

FYI: I currently believe that due to mold unavailability, some of these keycaps must be matte instead of the semi-matte used on 100% of the rest of the sets.

That would mean you can't have sculpted keys and number keys with symbols, right?

Right.  Not that anything is decided about additional row profiles anyhow.

It is certain they won't be in the initial GB. Later?  I can't say yes, but I am not saying no.

Inscrutably yours,

I was afraid of that.

Hey, quick show of hands everyone, do the people who want non-symboled number keys also want the sculpted profile, or will a sculpted non-symbol set not interest you?

Time for everyone here to either put up or shut up here.

Have already placed an order for 4 of everything because it's worth the price that PMK is asking for.  Nice layout and even if you're stingy you can just get the base kit to furnish any type of keyboard before buying anymore goodies in the section.

I have always said I will buy 4 sets of this Key-set because I can see it's beauty from a mile away.  This may be also the cheapest SA profile kit released thus far and that's good news all round when it comes to transforming your humble keyboards.

I am still waiting for CM's Novatouch to install these babies into when they get finally made.

Yup, 69$ for a full set of SA caps!  ;D

Of course I also ordered the specialty caps due to needing a 1.75x right Shift, the radioactive kit because everyone needs those orange caps and some spare spacebars because I suspect this set will see a lot of use and those spacebars shine quickly.

Thinking I should have also ordered a Winkeyless kit and some 7x spacebars, but I have to keep some money aside for Matt3o's next set!

Since the GB thread is locked, I'm gonna post it here.

The base set came back in stock on PMK now. I notice the picture of Deep Dish kit has "GUHTN"

Since the base kit only has Deep Dish F, J keys, is there an error not to include a regular F, J in the Deep Dish kit?

Could Matt3o or anyone who already bought this kit confirm this?

Thanks!

Got response from PMK that the base kit has regular F, J. And the Deep Dish Kit has 5 keys as the picture shows.
