Yes, V2 PCB is different than V1 PCB.  The only difference I think is 1800 layout compatibility.

Oh darn. I don't like the short right shift but I do like the idea of squeezing a full numpad in there. Might just have to shift mine over and half a 1u "+" or "enteR" on the numpad.

Anyone know the right way to install stabilizers? Starting from which way to put together the black stabilizer standoffs..lol

stick the black slider into the housing making sure to orient the correct way. stick wire into the slider then clip the wire into the slider housing. do this for both ends of wire then insert into pcb. idk if this was what you were asking though lol. you can tell which way the slider enters the housing by looking at the bottom of the two, unless you clipped the sliders then it might be a lil more difficult to tell.

Edit: i know this is a lubing tutorial, but it also demonstrates how to assemble it near the end. (skip to cherry stabs of course)

Elton, I use this photo as a reference:

From here

That should at least clue you in to which way those two pieces fit together.  And from there, the "non-clipping" part (the one that slides in to the PCB rather than snaps in) goes in the bigger of the two holes.  Does that make sense?

Thanks keyit and hoff.  Got it.  It's easier to assemble it first then install it on the PCB.  It was kind of hard to find that hole for the wires to go in the standoffs.  I think the wire is a tiny bit bigger than that hole.

I had trouble my first few encounters with those stabs. ^.~ Had one in backwards and my key wouldn't press. :<

I noticed a noticeable difference on my custom board after doing this. It makes it much better. But you might inquire with the users on if they have a preference...

I have actually read some people here that like the cushion during the pushin...

The screws are way too small.  I may need to buy a new torque screw driver that is small enough.  Or are there alternative screws?

Almost finished. Anyone know how many brightness levels are there? Why I only have 2 levels(1 on 1 off)?

- Notes about LED modes:
by default, they are on Function Layer #3, which means press the MFN button 3 times in a quick succession to get to the 3rd function layer, and on the third time hold it and press a number associated with the area on the keyboard you want illuminated (alternatively, if you bind FN3 to some key, press FN3 + number)

1 = Function row LEDs
2 = Modifiers + number row
3 = Alphas
4 = Numpad
5 = Side LEDs

To cycle through different lighting modes, you can press those keys repeatedly.  For example holding down FN3 (or having pressed MFN 3 times and holding it), you can keep pressing "3" to cycle through lighting modes for the alphas.  Here are the lighting modes, in a cycle:

  • All ON
  • All OFF
  • Breathing with longer dark periods
  • Breathing with short dark periods (basically the opposite of the other kind of breathing, if you want to have 2 sections breathing exactly out of sync)
  • Reactive ON (off until you push a key, then that section turns on briefly at maximum set brightness)
  • Reactive OFF (on until you push a key, then that section turns off briefly)
  • Breathing mode where speed varies based on typing speed--starts off breathing quickly then slows dramatically until you begin typing
  • Breathing mode where speed varies based on typing speed--reverse of the above (breathing out of sync)
  • OFF until you begin typing, then the section turns on gradually the faster you type.  Fades back to off once you stop typing.

LED brightness level can be varied with LED D[ow]N and LED UP keys, on the same function layer #3 by default

I know how to change brightness or cycle through different modes, my question is that for brightness level, it seems that there are only two levels. Pressing led dn key while leds are on will go directly to off, pressing led up key while leds are off will go directly to maximum brightness.

 :-[ I am still having problem with the led brightness control (only two levels). FYI, I am using the latest firmware.
Can someone tell me how many brightness levels are there?

I think the leds I am using may be the cause of the problem. What's the preferred voltage range for the leds?

EDIT: BTW, I think I find a bug: the number lock indicator lignt would stay the same after I press the led ctrl key to turn off the leds. And when the leds are off, the num lock light cannot be swithced on/off, but the caps lock light can. Not really a big problem.

Not really. I like the 1800 layout (actually might be more perfect for me than any other layouts) but I'm curious because some of my endgame caps might not fit on this thing otherwise :(

It will be shipped out once they're all assembled.  It is easier for them to ship the keyboards out all at once rather than individually one by one.  Again, I apologize for the delay.

Hey guys. I'm holding a V1 in hand. I want to trade for a V2 or, I'll straight up buy your V2 off you. [I want that 1800 layout!]
Great chance for someone to switch up who was caught off guard by 1800 layout.
Thanks for your time.

edit2: found out a v2 pcb + plate can fit in my v1 case; willing to trade just pcb+plates
