Harry is from Hong Kong and knows very well the Chinese martial arts tradition. To become a top group buy organizer he needs to suffer a lot first. He hasn’t had Paypal confiscate all the money accusing him of being a scammer and demanding that Harry jump through lots of hoops (they like to test you to see if they can get away with stealing your money). Suffering makes the man!   

Am quite gratified to see so many people come forward to offer help. That’s part of our wonderful tradition!

Since collecting money took much longer than expected, I think the end dates have to be pushed back a month or more.

It's been like 2 months since the GB closed, surely the people who still have not paid are not going to.

This and what will happen to the Olivetti, as we needed to meet the MOQ and if the Olivetti will be reduced even further I doubt TaiHao wants to make them as it may be not profitable enough anymore? Olivetti was already hard to get to a high number of orders.

Harry said 2 weeks ago that he would give orders another week-1.5 weeks for payment before they are canceled.  So that deadline has passed.  Honestly if Olivetti doesn't meet MoQ I'd like to cancel my order as well.  I guess I'll wait for an update from Harry.

yeap, there was a groupbuy going on in a fairly new (that's the only one i know) keyboard forum in china. the set includes basic 104 ansi and tsangan set making it a total of 111

the production is done and it should be shipping soon.

 I urge starting a thread dedicated to listing such scummy names.

If I'm getting the right vibe, I think he is somewhat right. Because it is really bad if ppl order and order and then dropout without any notice. When you pm the OP and explain why you cant pay there will always come a solution where both parties will be happy. But not saying a word and than leaving open orders is putting a lot of pressure on the OP who organizes the GB and shipping for us. We can sit back, pay and play the wait game ^^
Still I think the inner circle of geekhack moderators should know some of those ppl and if they happen to stand out again without any notice something should be done to prevent GBs from falling apart? Aint dis rayght?

I was happy to keep it to PMs but it seems as if I'm being publicly slandered I will now defend myself. As with anyone I've dealt with on GH can attest to, I take pride in keeping to my word and fulfilling my dues in a very prompt manner. If you look back when invoicing began I was the first one to reply as 'paid' and I wouldn't doubt if I was in the first few to pay in general. When I paid I was happy with the expected time frame and looked forward the timeline to be kept (-/+ a bit, of course). However, as you all know, this group buy is well over a month behind schedule already. It looks like people won't be receiving these sets until Dec/Jan at this rate based off the original 'Time Estimation'. Again, that's not what I signed up/paid for.

Only after I was very quickly denied a refund unless I abided to his terms I told him I filed a claim. Sorry, it's not my problem to find someone to fill my slot.

I do find it ironic that at the time of me asking for a refund there had been no real update since invoicing began. The last one being 'I have sent the numbers to taihao and am waiting for their reply'  therefore I asked for a refund. I find it convenient that he has now only said that he's already paid Tai Hao. Not sure how you pay them without even finding out if they accept your numbers yet?

You have a lot to learn. With any group buy, you have to be patient. You also need to follow the direction of the organizer when it comes to things like payments, refunds, etc.

Filing a Paypal dispute, especially when the organizer has already instructed you how to go about sellling your order, is the worst kind of douchebaggery. When you make a commitment to a group buy, you need to honor your commitment. No one will have sympathy on you, nor care about your excuses.

For me personally, you are now blacklisted from any sales or group buys I run, now or in the future.
