I'm visiting a friend that lives 2 blocks from an AA store in Milwaukee today, so maybe I can convince him to stop in there.  (This is a store where you can try on their shirts, right?  I have zero experience with AA)   :))

As for extra cost, I'm willing to pay quite a bit for a shirt that's long enough.  I haven't worn a properly long shirt for as long as I can remember...   :-X

Yes you can try shirts on. Please do so. That's the best way to know if you like AA shirts.

I edited my post on page 1 of this thread.

Maybe my order can be combined with Snoopy's to save shipping costs? I'll send him a PM...

Edit:

Snoopy is ok with that. This is hoping shipping 2 Shirts to Germany isn't exponentially more expensive than shipping just one ;)

I had made some already to give out. There was little interest in them, so I didn't pursue it any further.

I'll have yours and everyone else's orders updated in the OP. I'll try and find out before Wednesday about the International shipping.

Be nice  ;)

We hit the 48 shirt price break. I need to talk to the company again if they have more price tiers. I'll post when I have details.

They don't have the Large Tall in the store...because why would you?  Tall people don't shop for clothes...

Grumbling aside, I think both the L and XL fit alright.  The L was a tad tight, but the XL was a bit droopy, so I don't think I can win.  I edited my post once again to put 1 of each size, in hopes that either both will fit or at least one will fit great (maybe I can lose some weight and the LT will be perfect - here's hoping).

I went to the screenprinter today to verify cost, leadtime, sizes, and style of AA shirts available. I estimate that this buy will hit 80 shirts. At that number, the shirts are still $13.50 a shirt before shipping and PayPal fees.

I can now offer the following shirts:
- Style 2001 American Apparel shirts, a men's 4.3oz 100% cotton t-shirt.

- Style 2102 American Apparel shirts which are a woman's fit t shirt with the same specs as the 2001.

- Style 2001TL, a long version of the 2001

Available sizes are XS to 3XL for the 2001 and 2102. 2001TL runs from S to XL.

I've also updated the shipping costs in the OP. My new estimates are:

- CONUS, not at Keycon: $4-6
- Canada: $10-12
- Intl: $10-17

I understand the price range on shipping is high, I will triple check the shipping costs. The local USPS branches aren't helpful in estimating shipping costs unless I actually send a package. I will have to wrap a shirt up and take it to the branch to get the best estimate and figure out how to send the package online to save money.

If you are not satisified and would like to change your order, please edit your post with the words "I'm out" and "Shirts: 0". I will probably run future buys with Gildan or other sources of shirts which will be cheaper. But I am determined to have at least one run of American Apparel based Geekhack shirts since they are my favorite shirts.

If you want to add different styles to your order, please edit your post as follows:
Quote
I'm in
Shirts: <How many 2001>, <How many 2102>, <How many 2001TL>
Size: <Your T shirt Size>
Attending Keycon?: <Yes or No>
Location: <Your location>

If you don't edit, I will assume the shirts you want are the default 2001 style. Lead time should be under 7 days after placing the order.

All of this information has been added to the OP. I will also edit your order in the OP so you can check and see what your order is looking like. Please let me know if there are questions or concerns.

I'm not familiar at all with American Apparel shirts, do they shrink? Are they really thin and light? Do they go well with 'larger' people? And by large I mean mostly my mid section.

Yes they shrink in terms of length, not in fit. Yes they're thinner and lighter than a typical Gildan shirt; but they're also way softer and I like the fit better. If you're larger or like loose fits, get a size bigger than you normally wear. The OP has fit pics in L.

For what it's worth, I wear an L and I like how the AA shirts fit. If you look at the picture and you think it's too tight, I recommend getting a size up. However, I can only tell you what shirts I fit and how they fit on me.

One more thing, I assumed people knew but if you didn't, the shirts that BunnyLake made previously are printed on Gildan shirts. If you have one or can find pictures of those, then it will be easier to compare them to the fit pics in the OP. If you still have questions about the fit, please let me know.

Just an FYI, this buy closes in a week. It seems we've hit the lower pricing tier we're going to get so if you're waiting for a price break, this it it :D.

I'll probably do more shirt buys later, depending on how smoothly this one goes and demand, and I'll run it on different shirts which will be cheaper. I think I've found an acceptable Gildan while I was at the screenprinter. They told me it should be about 2x cheaper per shirt.

Guys, please please please add "I'm In" to your posts. Since I'm running this just in the thread, I'm using CTRL-F to search through your posts. Not having it means I have to scan through 5 pages and I may miss your orders or updates.

Okay updated my earlier order with the "I'm in" quote  :thumb: .  Hope it helps with your calculations here.

I've updated the shipping costs guys. I'll be shipping everything USPS first class, domestically or internationally.

- CONUS = $3-4
- Canada = $7-8
- Rest of the World = $12-13

There is a price window because I'm not sure if I'll be printing the labels out myself or going to the post office. I will also include the cost of the bubble mailer into the final costs. I'll be ordering 100 #3 Bubble Mailers from Uline which will cost me $46.86. This cost will be spread across all the shirts that aren't going to Keycon. Also I'll need to pick up a few more rolls of tape which cost about $6. With 73 shirts total, it's an added cost of $.72 right now.

Keycon's added cost will be the cost of a USPS flat rate shipping box of $15.85. This is split between the shirts that are going there.

If you were waiting for the shipping costs to order, I apologize for taking so long to post them. Buy ends in 4 days so get those orders in!

Shirts won't be shipped until after Keycon. I think it's only fair to let those at Keycon get their shirts first.

One last thing, I think I'm going to have to collect all the money before placing the order. When I send out the invoices, please pay promptly. Thanks all!!

I want CPTBadAss to do more group buys.
This one is going so well so far.

Haha, I don't know what I'd even sell Input Nirvana. And I really could have gotten shipping information sooner. I feel like my initial estimates weren't very helpful.

Well, judging by this group buy, there are a lot of topless Geekhwackers out there.

I think I'm going to look into doing other shirts or GH related clothing. Seems to be a decent demand for them. And you like them topless IN :P
