Very nice

Interesting that different colors make the keys pretty expensive considering that the GITD version is almost half the price.

The startup fees are built into the initial amount of the parent deal. They will go down significantly once we sell 50...

What row are the 1x caps? I assume the 1.25x are bottom row.
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Thank you for the suggestion. I just created a reddit account, but I am having trouble trying to figure out how to post there...they make a person lurk before being able to post...well, not likely going to get to post this GB there...

If you mean the screensaver kind of characters, that was discussed in the IC, but would require cutting a new mold for each keycap, which would have made this a very expensive GB!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yeah, it makes me hope that this set makes it...see those keycaps become a reality, and not just pixels in a mainframe.

Seriously ooze why does no one love your PMK gb's ? I think these keys will be cute.

If they ever leave pixel-stage, I mean.

Just a reminder, if the glow in the dark child deal tips, but the parent deal doesn't, there is a very real possibility that there will be no glow keycaps produced. In hindsight, I should have made them separate GB's. But, hey...I'm still a newb...

MOQ should be 50, that 27$ is the most unappealing thing I've ever seen. I'm pretty sure there'd be >50 orders already if it were 15$ with MOQ of 50. SP's current system has its drawbacks...

Absolutely, the current system just does not work.

Firstly, the group buys are only in the SP vendor subforum. Secondly, the low initial MOQ is nice, but the pricing scheme that balances it makes people wary of commiting to ordering until enough OTHER people have ordered to reach a higher tier... which obviously doesn't work.

If I were to start a GB for SP caps I would first run an Interest Check thread and keep it going for a while to get exposure and ideas of what will sell / what people really like or don't like about my design. Then once there is some proper interest generated I'd start the GB with a relatively high MOQ and lowish starting price according to how many people seem interested enough to buy. This can be quite a balancing act, but if the people posting in the IC thread have been honest it should be possible.

I have now placed orders in two PMK GB's that haven't even reached the 25 MOQ due to this and I really wanted both sets to be made.... I may just stick to bigger GB's from now on like the ones Ivan runs.

Well, I haven't quit SP just yet. I am working to make the next GB more affordable and thus easier to purchase.

OEM (DCS if SP) Row 4. Bottom Row profile. The DCS is typically just a hair shorter than OEM.

Unless a miracle happens, this GB is a bust. There is only 2 days left, and it is holding steady at 7 of 25. Should I immediately relaunch it but with only the 2 pills? It should be about $9 a set with MOQ 50.

We will call it: 'No Spoon: Reloaded'

What do you think?

Also, the Glow in the Dark keycaps will be a separate parent deal.

  • Missed another sale.
I very much regret that due to several unexpected expenses this month, and despite my initial enthusiasm, I am unable to participate in the GB at this time.

Although one order is not likely to tip the balance, nevertheless I apologise :-[

Next month is not looking good either, although at $9 I don't think I could resist!

Don't sweat it. I am likely going to move on to a 007 Group Buy or another stab at a couple of Firefly keycaps. This time, Modifiers only baby. I've got a plan...

After PMK now has a limitation on the amount of votes before an IC can go live as a GB, I have been in talks with Keypop, and well, all the designs that were from the Matrix busted Group Buy on PMK will soon be available through Keypop on their website!

Just got word from KeyPop that they plan to produce the pills with the same right tilt orientation, and that they plan to sell all 4 in sets!

Very exciting!

Just found this thread again :)

I am happy for you that you finally get your beloved designs!

As discussed in various threads before PMK GBs don't work for single novelty keys. Glad that a vendor stepped in. Next time I'll order something from Keypop I'll add these keys for sure  :thumb:
