I would actually bid/buy if I knew how.

If you want to bid, you have to use a proxy like http://www.fromjapan.co.jp/. Prices could get quite high since from japan adds a percentage on the final price.

Years ago it would've been, but a few 5000s on ebay have gone for around $500 recently.

Josh on DT pointed out that the pictures for that sale were actually from 2013, so I'd bid with caution on that one..

Coming from a guy with a MX5000, yeah, it's probably gonna get there.  The hype has died down quite a bit from a few years ago.

agreed, especially with the plethora of upcoming split ergo products coming out. The 5000 is to "floppy" for me to really enjoy.

These was ended with 67,000 and 68,000yen around $700US.
Still hyped but not as it used to be.
