Not yet, I just picked them up yesterday  :p

I'm going to go over them closely to make sure they are up to standard and then this weekend I'll start getting orders packed up to ship sometime this coming week.

I had some time today to get all the shipping envelopes prepared and to carefully inspect all of the plates (while marathoning through episodes of Deadwood :p ).

It looks like there are a few that will need to be recut. Everything I got is usable, but there are some that aren't quite up to the mark of what I want to send out. I'm going to contact the metal shop tomorrow to work something out and will provide updates as I have them.

In the meantime, I'm going to be shipping out the orders that can be fulfilled with the good plates I have on hand. Packages will be sent out with respect to the sequence in which the orders were received. I've got the first dozen orders ready-to-go and will be taking them to work with me tomorrow to send out.

First round of shipments have gone out. Mostly CONUS orders and 2 internal orders. I should be able to get more out tomorrow or Wednesday.

My guy at the metal shop was out of office today so I'll try again tomorrow.

I'm not really in the market, but maybe you should sell those extra plates as "seconds" quality plates for the desperate ;)

They requested the faulty plates be returned or I would definitely unload them as f2's.

I was very appreciative of the quick turnaround in getting replacements cut, it means I can get this huge pile of stainless steel out if my dining room sooner haha!

I got my plates in today. Many thanks to strict for running this GB. I'd take pics but the sun is already starting to come down here so the lighting is bad. Now that I got my last part, I just need to find time to start assembly on my Phantom. Hybrid 7bit/ansi layout here I come.

So I think I may have ****ed up here. My numbers for what I have on hand vs what I should have on hand aren't matching. For the 8 orders that I have listed below, when your order arrives please check that you got the right designs. If what you've received is the wrong design please let me know as soon as possible and I will cover 100% of the costs for correcting your order. Though it is possible that all the orders I've shipped so far are correct and that my numbers are off for some other reason.

Im truly sorry for this potential mixup everyone. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out how this could have happened and the only thing I can come up with is that I got my piles of plates mixed up at some point while packing up envelopes. I truly feel terrible for this and as I said above I will 100% cover all shipping costs in both directions to fix my terribly embarrassing potential slip up.

The good news is that, if I include my own ANSI125 plate, I have enough plates on hand to ship all the currently pending orders. Obviously I would like to keep my plate but you guys are my number one priority so if there's a wrinkle that doesn't get ironed out I have no hesitation shipping this plate.

These are the orders that are potentially affected followed by the plate design and count that you should have gotten. If you're on this list, please verify you get the design(s) you were expecting.

Removed names - All plates have now been accounted for

Again, please accept my sincere apologies for this potential mix up and trust that I will do everything I can to make it right.

While I'm working on ironing the out this issue, I will be continuing to pack up (double and triple checked :-[ ) and ship all the remaining orders.

You can cross me off that list. I just double checked what I received and it is in fact 2x ANSI125 and 1x 7bit. Hopefully that takes a little bit of the load off of you. :)

Sorry to hear about that issue.

I will report back as soon as I get my shipment  :thumb:

Thanks! I'm pretty confident that both international orders that shipped are right but confirmation will definitely be helpful.

I'm almost positive the issue only affects two CONUS shipments that ordered a single ANSI150 plate that I accidentally sent an ANSI125 plate. One of those has confirmed with me my suspicions so there should only be one more shipment to iron out and my numbers will jive again.

My order for 1x 150 plate is here and correct. Envelope was damaged pretty decent and ripped enough to where the plate almost fell out. haha. Still in good condition and no noticeable damage.

Thank you strict!

Well, as I'm planning on the 7-bit layout ... I'll let you finish that sentence.

If you're getting an ANSI125, I think other boards like the filco MJ2 or CM-QFR will sit under it except ... they come with plates, right? But there are things like the A.87 and other korean boards, who also I believe try to be generic in their layout so you can swap cases ... which probably means you can swap plates as well.

But the expectation, and the only thing I've ever heard wrt this particular run of plates, was the phantom PCB. (MK carries them for $32 shipped domestically ... which I think is just way-cool).

Edit: It's like CMAdrid says. You could I suppose mangle your plate by making cutouts for the controller, but it won't work stock because the phantom has switches where the QFR has a microcontroller.

I thought I read that these plates WONT work with QFR/Filco pcbs with the controller above the arrow cluster.

You would just have to cut out for the controller. But why would you want to use anything other than a phantom??

To clarify, theres a significant amount of cutting that would be required to make a Phantom plate work with a PCB that has a controller on the top. Here is a photo of a uTKL plate on top of a Phantom plate to give you a rough idea.

I was just wondering if it would work with something like one of Sprit's pcbs or a GON pcb, or really what all options there are out there aside from just phantom.  Curious :o

Got some more plates shipped out a few minutes ago. All the international orders have shipped out except one and theres only a handful of CONUS orders left. Once the ANSI 125 return plate arrives tomorrow I can get all the remaining orders shipped.

Sometime early next week I plan on listing the F2 plates that the fabrication shop was generous enough to let me keep. If you're looking for a plate and are handy enough to fix minor defects or don't mind a plate with some cosmetic issues keep an eye on the classifieds. There will be at least one of each design here along with some other plates I've had laying around and am tired of looking at. Price will vary depending upon material (alum or SS) and usability grade.

I got my Phantom built up over the weekend and I was surprised how well the plate held the switches in place. Modding the plate wasn't too bad, but it did take some patience and some tunes playing on my phone to get me through it. I modded my 7bit plate to essentially become an ANSI layout everywhere except for the bottom row, which is just the normal 7bit layout. I need to figure out what cap sizes I need for the bottom row. I did let the dremel slip a couple of times, but most of those blemishes are covered up by my case. All that I have left to do for it is cut up a USB cable to splice it with the stock QFR wire harness to get the detachable cable functionality.

Thanks again for running this group buy strict! I will get a picture of it up sometime this week.

Re: [GB] Stainless Steel Phantom Plates - ANSI 125, 150, 7BIT [SHIPPING]
« Reply #192 on: Tue, 04 November 2014, 23:50:46 »

Glad everything worked out! I look forward to seeing your pictures.

Received the plates.  I will have one built over the coming weekend.
Thanks...    :D

Happy to hear it. Would love to see some pics of the final product!

I didn't have a whole lot of sun light left to snap some pics today, so all I got were these terrible pictures. The keyboard doesn't looks too good right now as the only caps I had laying around was my Miami set and the only 1.5x caps I had were from my Bro set and the |\ from my Miami set.  I will say however, the Bro eyes on my function key in the middle of my bottom row looks amazing where its at and the profile on it is awesome for being able to just slightly move my thumb over and hit it. The case got hit pretty bad on the edges by the dremel, but it was only a practice run and I think with enough prep time on painting it, it wouldn't be noticeable. I'm not even sure how if I even want the extra 5 keys around the arrow cluster.

Did you end up using stabilizers on shift, enter and backspace?

Yes, I salvaged them along with the case from the QFR. They don't click in like they normally would but they do get snug at a certain point when you install them and they work just fine.
