Hello!
« on: Mon, 21 July 2014, 23:38:53 »

Hi! I've followed geekhack for a few months now but never really got around to making an account.

I've had a Filco MJ-2 Ninja for a little over two years now, and love it dearly. Recently started looking for a 60% keyboard for work--a friend pointed out the recent massdrop for the Poker II with clears to me so I splurged. It's only been a few days since the drop ended, but I've been going crazy looking at keycaps and case mods for it weeks before it gets here, not to mention all the other cool things people have done with their boards around here.

Not currently working on any projects, but my campus has a 3D Printing lab--I might check out the feasibility of printing out a set of custom caps.

I think I'm starting to get addicted  ;)

Welcome to Geekhack!

3D printed keycaps are possible, have a look in making stuff together! for some hints.

Poker is quite popular - there is much that you can do with it.
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Hello and welcome! Very funny Seinfeld clip!

I also have a Poker2, and love it to the end of the world. I am looking to get a aluminum case for it, but they are so darn expensive! What have you found in that area? Aslo, you should check out some blank keycaps. They look very very nice on the Poker, and would be a good addition to your board.
My collection:

GON HHKB (62g MX Clears), CM Storm Novatouch, Poker II (MX Blues)  ., HHKB 2 Pro ., Cherry G80 (MX Blacks), JD40 (In the mail as soon as Margo builds it!), Plank Keyboard (parts in the mail!)

I'm kicking myself in the ass that I went ahead and pulled the trigger on the Poker II massdrop that happened right before the clears one came up. But, alas! Such is life. Welcome!
