Ok, the Radioactive Kit has some keycaps in Bright White (WA) on Orange (OAS), but these are the only keycaps that aren't White-on-Green.

72887-4

NEW FONTS ON IMAGES

This is not live on PMK yet, but I went through the "official" SVG file and updated all the alphas, numbers, and function key legends to better match what we expect will be on the keycaps.

Here is a full image of the initial sets.  (I will also update the alternative combinations, e.g. Dvorak/Colemak.)

This is as close to the actual final fonts as I can get with a mock-up.

Note the sans-serif "I", the updated "J", the base-less "1". The awesome slashed zeros.

I'll send this to SP as-is and split up into little images for the website.

OK?

Most excellent!

That is a price I can almost afford ;D

C'mon people - we want orders!  Er, is it up yet?

It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. All the items and pricing we have is now in the OP of this thread.  The base kit has been submitted to SP via http://www.pimpmykeyboard.com and once the base set is up we will add the other kits and blanks.

Once the base kit goes up, it would be encouraging to see people sign up for that and then add other kits as I get them uploaded.

NOTE:  I do not have pricing on relegendables (1.0 or 2.0), 6u spacebars (although I expect them to be $4) or pricing, timing or a decision on other row profile keycaps.

Yeah - money doesn't grow on trees!

Unless you are using leaves as currency.

In which case it probably does grow on trees.

It's all in the ground under your feet  :thumb: .  For some it means nothing but dirt for others is worth billions, after more than 4000 years of so-called modern human habitation the minerals under your feet is still the most valuable source of immense wealth and prosperity.

6.2 I believe is the same as 6.25 which is the standard spacebar sizing for most common boards with 1.25 mods, filco, ducky, qfr etc.

A bloody G80-1865 uses that size, a real pain when it comes to Group Buys because SP doesn't have the molding for fitment to these brilliant keyboards  :'( .

I think the current 660M uses that size as well........

Yes, I think it's the new ones that have signed on here at GH.  The SA is hidden between the "Green" and "Row" words which can be difficult to view quickly  ;D .

You have to have a little compassion for our 'newlings' here because this is a big place which can get quite confusing to the uninitiated.

This might be a difficult question to answer but, since Novatouch stems and stabilizers have been confirmed to swap with a hhkb and fc660c, can the 6x spacebar of this set theoretically work with a hhkb or fc660c once the swaps have been completed?

Awesome! This keycap set is one of my favourite colourways. I can't wait to see everyone's pictures.

Looks like I'll have to add more stuff to the F/S listing I'll have to make :p

Other than the ones listed in the OP?

The non-homing G in the deep dish kit looks like it may have meant to be a J.

All around a cool set.

Fixed.  Thanks!

What keyboard supports a 6.2 space bar? Wish I could be part of this. glws.

SP calls 6.25 "6.2"  Fits most (MOST) modern keyboards.

What keyboard supports a 6.2 space bar? Wish I could be part of this. glws.
6.2 I believe is the same as 6.25 which is the standard spacebar sizing for most common boards with 1.25 mods, filco, ducky, qfr etc.

what about 6u?

SP does not have a 6.00 spacebar in SA profile.  Sorry.  Same with 10.00 spacebars.  Still sorry.

We could have either of those shot in DCS profile, but their profiles would not match.

SA Profile in black; DCS profile in blue.

Hmmm.  Maybe reverse-mounted on the keyboard?

Ah. I misread what you meant by "1 Space $0.25 each". Ok, that works.

So, if I'm doing my math right, it'll be:

base - $63
20 x 1u - $5
12 x 1.5u - $9
4 x 2u - $4

$81 for the base set and enough blanks for an ErgoDox. Count me in on this one.

Fixed the OP to make the blanks easier to understand.  (That was a cut-and-paste from SP.)

Also have worked out that we cannot get 6.0 or 1.0 spacebars.  Matt3o has DCS and SA kits and made a physical comparison and they just don't go together,  Sorry; we are dropping the idea of including DCS spacebars of any length in this buy, so 6.0x and 10x spacebars are out.

Everything has been uploaded to SP at http://www.pimpmykeyboard.com and as soon as they are ready to release we are good to order AFAIK.

Here are the kits/items:

The pricing should be the cheapest for any SA Profile released thus far (if you want to make comparisons).

So there's no excuse to NOT buy less than 2 complete key-sets with Radioactive Sets and of course the mandatory extra Space Bars, for most keyboards  :thumb: .

Thank you Sam and Matt for making this happen.

I believe Signature Plastics can do 8x and 9x SA spacebars, any chance you can add that and if orders get there then so be it? I don't see how adding it could hurt.

I for one am glad it isn't. Gives it a chance at actually getting seen by people and may actually meet MOQ then.

It's a good thing that is not hidden, it has the chance to get the right amount of exposure that a GB needs, especially when you a have a short time span to reach the MOQ  :thumb:

I have no objection, but those were down-voted as "meh" in the IC phase.

Shouldn't the Vendor-run group buy be hidden in Signature Plastics' Vendor Subforum?

Well, so far "the vendor" hasn't done any actual work on this group buy.  They have responded to quotes and told us which of our desired legends were and were not available.

All of the design, planning, documentation, interaction with forum members, posting, creating multiple versions of machine-ready artwork, creating images for upload, uploading descriptions and images, and everything else so far?

samwisekoi and Matt3o

Oh, and the two of us made all of the decisions required so far, including my STRONG DESIRE not to repeat the fulfillment and post-shipping support effort I went through for Retro DSA.

Make no mistake, SP is making and shipping the keycaps.  They have systems for that.  But this is not a vendor-run group buy.

(Plus all of the other reasons listed above by other people.)

The reason the question was asked is every other group buy using SP's PMK website has been forced to be in the SP subforum for good or bad.

I knew there was a reason why I loved this man, he actually hit the nail on the head for the reason's why this process should be held in this "GROUP BUY" section  :thumb: .

Maybe that is why certain GB's failed to reach MOQ due to hiding all the Group Buys in their secluded section, hence most new people wouldn't know where to read or see what's going on.  Besides if SP actually designed this key-set from the get go then they can actually keep it in their vendor forum but this key-set has been designed and organized here in this area (section of Geekhack) for some time.

I firmly believe that Signature Plastics should ALWAYS be just a manufacturer and nothing more, so let's keep it that way.  I'm sure they are still in business today due to ONLY making key-caps, if someone here thinks that it's NOT please state here what exactly is their business?

That is what drew me here in the first place all those years ago when it came to getting my hands on some tasty key-caps, it all started HERE in this section of Geekhack.  I hope this will be the future of most Group Buys because it provides ease of access and complete updates to your chosen key-cap purchase.  There is no offense to SP here but I have always wanted Group Buys to stay in this section for everyone to read and see what's going on.  When the organizers themselves have actually designed the caps and spent all of their own valuable time and effort in this important phase then they have the right to choose whereabouts to keep informing people on this process.

Thanks Sam and Matt3o for choosing to stay here, we all appreciate it greatly  :thumb: .

Yea no one's denying who was involved in the design process, it just makes sense for GH to take a stance on whether or not it should be held here or in the vendor group buy, as other group buys didn't get this same treatment.

The long justifications for why it should or shouldn't be here are not the point, it's that they're allowing this one to be here as the exception, so it should be like this for all PMK's GBs or none at all. Mods weigh in on this maybe? And stick to your guns from here on out as to not place favouritism?

Huh.  Apparently this hullabaloo happened while I was away from the forum this Spring.  I am angry right now, so I'll post briefly.

Elrick, you were an early and vocal supporter of this set, which was proposed long before SP got off their behinds and gave GB organizers some tools.  Thank you for that and for your kind words.

I just read that whole thread, and I am 100% in agreement with jdcarpe's first post (before he was disempowered.)

Anyone who believes that a vendor is taking advantage of me in this group buy has not met me.  And I am pretty sure I have met nearly everyone posting with authority in that thread.

I was away while those final decisions were made.  I am not away now.  I shall now go interact with other Admins and Mods on the topic.

However, as I promised, this thread is to promote some freakin' AWESOME KEYCAPS.

Thanks for the heads up on that other thread.  I'll go deal with it.  In the meantime, let's talk about spacebars and profiles here.

HERE.
