Model F problem
« on: Mon, 04 August 2014, 09:17:57 »
I have two terminal Model F's, and it seems my backup is experiencing a curious issue. My right arrow is registering as both, the right arrow and Numpad 4, resulting in the number 4 being displayed followed by a cursor movement to the right when actuated. Aqua Key Test confirms that it's registering both keys. HID listen displays the following when the right arrow is actuated:

r6B +5C d5C r6A +4F d4F
rF0 r6B -5C u5C rF0 r6A -4F u4F

I've already tried re-seating the key cap multiple times to no avail. I then tried to remap the right arrow to, well, the right arrow, but I don't know how to un-assign Numpad 4 to it.

Any ideas?

Next thing I would do is open it up and clean it.

Though if you're using Soarer's stuff and you don't use the numpad I believe you can map a key to nul.

I'll try that for the heck of it.

Okay that worked, which sucks because I actually do use the Numpad from time to time. Thanks for the suggestion, by the way.

Odd that it should manifest in the 4 and not the 1.

Could you have debris floating around in the underworld?
"The Trump campaign announced in a letter that Republican candidates and committees are now expected to pay “a minimum of 5% of all fundraising solicitations to Trump National Committee JFC” for using his “name, image, and likeness in fundraising solicitations.”
“Any split that is higher than 5%,” the letter states, “will be seen favorably by the RNC and President Trump's campaign and is routinely reported to the highest levels of leadership within both organizations.”"

Quite possibly, as this is the Model F I performed the ANSI mod on.

By the way, what's the best way to clean the PCB? Damp cloth? No alcohol, I assume.

UPDATE:

Okay, so the problem turned out to be that I had both, my F-122 and AEK plugged in simultaneously. Once I unplugged the AEK, the F-122's key registration issues resolved themselves.

It has been my experience that a Teensy does not play well with others, and that only one Teensy is allowed at a time.
