Thanks melvang. The charcoal plus smoker has already proved useful. The brats, steak, and pork were absolutely amazing.

Did you make a thread for that way back when? I think I remember seeing it at some point. I'm always looking for suggestions for improvement, I'm still quite new to this, so I'll try to find it.

Is anyone coming from the Marquette MI area? I really want to get to this but transportation will be hard.

Ferrys are overrated, picking up a bro who will pay for gas is the way to go  ;)

It's definitely not out of the question, i just have to figure out if i wanna drive 12ish hours, or take a ferry and be there in 6.

Okay, this is it, people.  The greatest region-specific GH meetup.   :p

A little disclaimer: I did have a hard time organizing a MN meetup a few months ago. I am confident that being out of school will make this much easier for me.   :thumb:

So the details...
Date: October 25th (tentative)
Location: My house in eastern WI (that's right! I'm opening my house to you weirdos   :-*   )

As the title implies, I'm hoping to get some interest from all the Midwest folks. Hopefully someone is willing to make the drive?

Post a comment to express interest or questions/concerns!

Tentative List of Attendees:
  • HoffmanMyster (definitely)
  • CPTBadAss (almost certainly)
  • exitfire401 (maybe)
  • The_Beast (probably? if he bothers to drive 2 hours)
  • Melvang (possibly)
  • dustinhxc (if he can make the drive)
  • Joey Quinn (probably?)
  • halodub (probably)
  • Synjin (almost certainly)

Edit:
Tentative date has been included now.

Is anyone driving from St Louis area or nearby? I would love to tag along if so.

I dunno what Silver Elite means but I like the sound of it. Also, is it bad form if I scream boom headshot after every kill?

Possibly.  Pm me.  I am coming from Iowa but might be able to pick you up.  The one issue is that it would be a one way trip as we are heading over to MI to visit other friends after.

Oh yeah, for sure.  I'm not aware of anyone coming from there, unfortunately.  :(  And I think the only one coming from west of you would be Melvang, but that's a bit of a stretch upward, and only one way like he said.

It's officially October so can people update if they will be able to attend?  So far there's a lot of tentatives.  :P

Also, let's settle on a time.  I figure we can grill around 4pm, so something like 1pm-6pm might be good?  Or 2pm-6pm?  12pm-6pm?  Earlier, later, neither?  Let me know!

What if I showed up a little early and made creme brulee?  Then we wouldn't have to leave.  I can even bring me own kitchen torch.
