Welcome to the light side :p

Which keyboard, and which weight switches?
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

you topre guys are starting to get to me.

I've been using this 30g uniform for the past few months and I haven't realized it but it's grown on me! I think I need to switch back to model F before I join the light side completely.

Just stay with the Topre board, and enjoy typing bliss. Granted I've never typed on a Model F. I've heard it's pleasant. Currently I can't get enough of this Novatouch with these thick PBT caps on it. So wonderful sounding.

30g waaay too light :p

But yes, Topre definitely grows on you.  I typed something on my HHKB earlier this morning and my fingers just flew over the keys and it was a complete joy to use.

I don't really recall ever experiencing that with an MX keyboard.

I bought an 87u 45g uniform a month ago... quite honestly its been so amazing that I stopped looking on GH for "bigger and better". I haven't touched any other KB since. Now granted, I'm a noob... but I can't imagine it getting any better.

After seeing thread after thread about this, eventually I'm just going to cave and buy topre.     And even if I dislike it, I'll already be so convinced that it's amazing that I'll fall in love with it...somehow.  :))

If I ever do pull the trigger, I'll probably just grab an HHKB.  Always loved the layout and form factor.

dustin's very interesting thread about restoring his HHKB Pro 1.
