Child deal added, waiting for Melissa's approval.

MOQ set at 5 unities, including deep dished F, J, N and T keys - 4 keys total.

I never declared that we were going to have deep dish keys anywhere and that's why they are not shown on the Base Set picures.

Also, they being removed were some of cost reduce measures we took early on, when we trashed Cherry Legends.

Child deal removed, deep dish keys will be available in the future Shift Keys On Row 4 Mini Group Buy.

Is there any chance that the child deal could be moved back to this buy? Waiting until the row 4 shifts could push things into next year.

Not having homing keys is a real downside for some of us, even to the point of not using the keyset until the homing keys are available. I'd hate to have to look down repeatedly to position my fingers.

The deep dish row 3 molds are already available, so is there an advantage to holding off?

I don't know if there's demand to support the child deal.

Also, if people that already bought the Base Set don't evetntually return to PMK.com, they won't be aware that this mini pack is available.

This could cause issues in the future by people complaining that missed the mini pack and that it should've been offered together with the Base Set - even though deep dish keys were not even an option until yesterday (again, deep dish are not shown or declared anywhere).

However...

Since you are claimming that the lack of these extras is basically a deal breaker, I believe that the best thing to do right now is to add them as a child deal and then offer then again on the future mGB.

What do you guys think?

So no raised strip or nipples either? I didn't see that answered anywhere. I agree with the others who want homing keys of some kind. I would be fine with the raised spot or deep dish, but i do find them to be essential. I would buy that extra pack.

At 10 MOQ, these 4 deep dished keycaps would be close to $5.

Do we have 10 buyers? Well, we'll have to assume that we have.

I requested approval with Melissa, the child deal is going live tomorrow.

I wouldn't say that it's a deal breaker. The set looks great and I'm not looking to cancel my purchase. But it is pretty important to some of us and I'd hate to have a great keycap set sitting on my shelf for months until I could get a homing pack.

I like the idea of offering it twice. Since the MOQ is only 5, I think that we'd easily hit that just with the people who've voiced interest in this thread. Even at 10 I think that we'd have enough interest as long as people knew about it. Offering it again along with the row 4 shifts for the people who missed it the first time around would also cover those bases.

Without considering the Colemak guys, we've got 7 supporters.

The child deal ($5 @ 10 MOQ) will be live tomorrow.

Please, place your orders as soon as you can.

It's not needed.

It's up, everyone go get your homing keys. I already authorized payment for mine, plus that tsangan kit and the spacebars I said I'm :)

Let us take a short moment of silence to mourn my bank account.

Thanks for the update, CJ. It's very nice to see people keeping up with the work on our group buy - I'm so busy with college right now. I was about to email Melissa but it's nice to see its up.

Make it tip guys, I'll make an update on Reddit as soon as I can.

Just bought 8 sets of the Deep Dishes hence let's keep this Group Buy down a bit without further add-ons being furnished.   As much as I love your key-set design I hate it when more caps are loaded onto the PMK site.  Just makes me go all crazy-like in buying them.

No more add-ons......pleeaasse  :-[ .

Probably because the thread on Reddit received extreme hate.

Problem is that we had a freaking huge Interest Check right here but on Reddit, it's really hard to keep things going properly.

And that's why people keep asking for stuff and noobing (by not committing). Too many idiots downvoting my posts over there because they are "tired of seeing the word PuLSE". And when they do that, relevant information goes to the void. I don't really care anymore though, we already tipped and they will absolutely regret hating so much on the keyset after seeing the final product.

They prefer to see "Look at my Cooler Master Quick Fire / My First Mech / My Poker II with Clears from MassDrop" posts than original stuff and group buys being run by the community.

Go figure. Circlejerking is very strong there.

Why would anyone downvote a PSA?

I wouldn't trust the downvote numbers. Reddit's algorithm inserts fake downvotes to prevent bots from gaming the system. I would be more inclined to believe you have 10 votes total with two downvotes from automated bots, though I don't have intimate understandings of their vote system.

If it doesn't tip, no big. Interest Checks are just a check to gauge interest, you aren't really putting much weight to your vote until you put your money into that vote, and that's what the MOQ is for IMO. October 7 is coming soon. If we have legitimately only 9 people committed to our friend Cole, then it just wasn't meant to be.

I absolutely hate Reddit.  I refuse to even register on that site.

You're better off posting here anyway.  Reddit is full of mech keyboard posers, which is made even more glaringly obvious by the fact that they don't jump on amazing key sets like this.  Screw them.

Pulse has tipped and then some.  We're on cruise control now.  Enjoy it.

I wish PMK would allow us to edit current orders.  They need to fix that, show us the quantity ordered on our history page and fix the mobile site.

I'm bummed too. And to add to that, I'm also really surprised that the Halfadox set hasn't even tipped yet. It's even more surprising to me that the count is so low since it's a set that needs to be purchased in pairs to be useful. I'm hoping that it at least gets to 25 since that cuts its introductory price nearly in half.

Hey Mito, I saw on your colemak post on reddit about how you're not considering on adding a child deal for blank modifiers. Can I ask why? I'd love to have blank SA modifiers for this set, it'd make the pulse noevelty cap "pop" out more :D.

Almost everything tipped, we only need one more Halfadox pack to be sold.

82 Base Sets sold as I write this post, while I predicted 75 last monday.

Seriosuly, this is getting ridiculous. We will probably reach 120 Base Sets sold.

I'm very surprised by the number of people supporting my design - thank you very much.

Not to mention the colour combination is really fantastic. Truly suits the profile and will work on almost any case colour / LED backlight colour. Being thick and made from dark plastic they will give that beautiful background glow from behind the caps... drool.

These and GMK Dolch are going to have permanent homes on 2 of my keyboards.

Hey MiTo, I see you've been busy over here!

I placed my initial order and have more to add, just deciding what at the moment.

Are there any other 24 function key people here (with G80-2100s and such) who would buy F13-F24 F-Row stripes if SP could price them like the existing kit?  If need be I'd buy a few extra to help get it going...

I'm actually really shocked at how unpopular the Halfadox option is here. I really hoe that it at least gets to 15 or 25 since each tier saves a good chunk of money.

i would join this group buy but your using BBQ as your cyan/blue and this could possibly look less shocking because of that.

people who joined Miami know that BBQ isn't the color you are representing in your mock ups.

its a pastel kind of blue/cyan. Very retro looking

it worked well with miami because that was a retro set but here, NN and BBQ strange together when i put them together

edit: this is BBQ and NN

edit: one thing about this color palette is that it represents the color with putting tons of cool white light in the photo (flash or lightbox) and probably color corrected on the computer.

BBQ is quite dull under normal lighting situations and looks better in photographs than it does in person. its like a pastel cyan

even with this color representation it does not match what the mock ups look like in the pictures on PMK and the OP

edit: one thing about this color palette is that it represents the color with putting tons of cool white light in the photo (flash or lightbox) and probably color corrected on the computer.

BBQ is quite dull under normal lighting situations and looks better in photographs than it does in person. its like a pastel cyan

even with this color representation it does not match what the mock ups look like in the pictures on PMK and the OP

if this is true, any suggestion on how to fix this?

It's tough when you don't have the actual colour samples in front of you which Melissa should supply before the final deadline looms.

Truthfully I can accept BBQ because it's going with a total Black colour and anything can go with that choice.

Edited my other post and removed the word "terrible" because as a completed set it's sure to look much better especially with sa center font and NN legends on these modifiers in question.

I guess my point is I hope everyone knows what they are getting into with BBQ color. It's not for me but maybe others will be ok with it

Honestly I don't know what the alternative is. SP doesn't offer any "shocking" blue choices. I'm sure that's why bbq was selected because it stands out.

I'm totally with you on this, I don't see why BBQ wouldn't go with black.

Here's the Miami DSA sample of BBQ and the 6.25 spacebar mockup side by side.  The Miami key looks greener to me and my display at least.

MiTo, is a custom colour mix out of the question?  Just curious.

Are there any other 24 function key people here (with G80-2100s and such) who would buy F13-F24 F-Row stripes if SP could price them like the existing kit?
Just me then? ;P

Glad you like it, I believe we did an incredible choice with these tones. The colorscheme is indeed fantastic.

I don't think there's enough demand for this Facet.

I know it may kinda look ghetto, but maybe you could combine the original F-Row keycaps on the base set with the F-Row Stripe in order to cover all of the 24 F-Keys.

i would join this group buy but your using BBQ as your cyan/blue and this could possibly look less shocking because of that.

people who joined Miami know that BBQ isn't the color you are representing in your mock ups.

its a pastel kind of blue/cyan. Very retro looking

it worked well with miami because that was a retro set but here, NN and BBQ strange together when i put them together

edit: this is BBQ and NN

First of all, thanks for the input you tried to give, as I understand the concern about how the color tones are going to look IRL.

But there's a major issue with it.

The first picture you provided (with Miami and NN keycaps) is an absolute crap. It's extremely desaturaded and was probably shot under very bad lightning conditions.

It doesn't represent the true colors featured on Miami and the NN tone, not even by far.

Let's see why:

  • The picture you provided suggests that the pink tone is an RGBA c7b9c6ff - very faded and boring.
  • The pink tone featured on the Miami Keyset is in fact the RGBA e388b4ff tone, very vivid and bright.
  • The "black" tone on your picture is the RGBA 132229ff which is not even black - it's a green/gray tone.
  • The NN black tone is equivalent to the Pantone Black C which is represent under the RGBA 000000f6 code.
  • The cyan tone represented on your picture is much more faded than it is, in fact. Just look at the picture I provided above.
  • I didn't use the crappy color sample SP provided on their website (the second picture you linked) on the mockups.
  • Every single mockup of PuLSE features the RGBA: 46b6baff blue tone, which I picked from the better picture there is of the BBQ color chip.
  • I didn't manipulate or corrected these colors in any sort of way. They truly represent how PuLSE is going to look in real life, under normal lightining conditions, with a precision of 95%, at least.

To everybody who's concerned about colors:

The Miami picture looks greener because the picture Glod provided is extremely bad.

I made a tone comparison breakdown which you can find on my reply above - make sure to check it out.

Mito - You should update the current set prices in the OP.

Will do, thank you for the reminder!

Not to mention, you guys raising the alarm about BBQ are way, way too late.

This set is ballin' outta control and you're gonna be sad you missed it.
