[GB] PuLSE SA Keyset - 4 WEEKS DELAY
« on: Sun, 07 September 2014, 21:15:01 »
NEWS BELOW:

Group buy closed.

We will not have a Round 2 of any sort.

If you like my stuff and want to follow my work, let me introduce my brand new blog:

http://mksts.tumblr.com/

There, you will find weekly updates with ideas, designs, projects and news about custom keysets. Since my web skills are close to a round zero, I'm using tumblr (please don't kill me). It's very simple and I believe it will do the job - hope you like it and stay tuned.

We achieved 195 votes on PMK. We ordered 207 Base Sets, 127 Novelties, and multiple kits that combined made PuLSE the most succesfull and affordable SA keyset ever made. Over 1800 goods were sold, thousands and thousands of keycaps. We did an incredible job since day one and I'm completely amazed by what we achieved. I'm very excited and looking forward to the pictures of you guys with our final product. I will keep you guys updated about our orders in this thread so stay tuned. Production, shipping, I'll keep asking Melissa and PMK for updates and will post'em here.

You people are amazing. I'd like to give a special thanks to some users, /r/MK and DT:

jdcarpe, Data, LechnerDE, feizor, JinDesu, spamray, Bianco, GSimon, Elrick, taylordcraig, LS89, justnits, DanielT, HoffmanMyster, xSpartanCx, Heliosphere, Hucifer, Dvoryke, nathanrosspowell, 01111000, Matt3o, numiru and many many others that inspired, helped and motivated me in the creation of this keyset since day one with inputs and feedbacks.

We did this together.

It's best if you join as soon as you can, because it seems that a lot of people wait for others to buy first before buying in, which means the buy quantity stays low even if everybody will buy at 50 or more. If you join early, it helps the buyer count rise sooner, likely leading to more buys and lower prices for all.

Noob question: the tsangan kits are for 60% keyboards? (i'm not referring in particular to this GB, it's more of a generic question).

thanks

For some. It just depends on the size of the modifiers - you'll need it if your keyboard doesn't have standard 1.25x mods and a 6.25 spacebar.

What are the spacebar sizes for the ducky mini and race 2? is it 6.25x?

This thread will most likely be moved to the Signature Plastics subforum, so I think it would be wise to make a little graphic that every supporter can put in his signature.

See what Matt3o did with his Midnight Set:

The most common 60% keyboard, Poker II, uses standard modifiers.

Tsangan kit is for any keyboard with 1.5u or 1u modifiers, [usually WKL - winkeyless layouts]

example

http://www.cherry.de/pictures/produkt/gal_2000_G8x-1800_0_Aufs.jpg 1u modifiers
http://i.imgur.com/gzwuh.jpg 1.5u modifiers

a couple 1800s with different bottom rows.

It's not working here too, I believe they are updating their system.
Should be working in 3h, at 12:00 PST (or PDT, I'm not really sure how the Daylight stuff works).

PMK's website is crawling right now. Hey MiTo, how come the blanks are $0.45 each when the blanks in the Nuclear buy are $0.25 and $0.35? Any chance of lowering the cost on those a bit?

Here's her answer:

I don't know how their calculations work though, but I believe that .45c is the lowest price possible in our situation.

Interesting, thanks for the quick response. No big deal since I will only buy a few blanks.

By the way, the F-stripe price needs to be fixed on this post. It starts at $19, not $10.

It's a bit slow, but usually is.  I suspect their server is getting far more hits than they catered for!
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Yep, my wallet has been thoroughly GANGBANGED yet again by SP.

Anything being made via SA profile, always gets my full attention  :thumb: .

Just ordered along with Nuclear Data. I'm out another $200 but hopefully it will be worth it!

I hope me and SP exceed your expectations in every single aspect. Thank you very much for the support!

Any chance of getting a 1.5u pulse symbol anywhere?
so many 1u pulse symbols between tsangan and novelty

I took this suggestion in consideration, but for the future GB alongside R4 shifts.

Hmm... The large ones in the novelty set are 1.25, right?

Yes they are!

Okay. :< I just feel like there are a lot of 1u keys. 5 of the same color and then the 3 novelty colors.
Still will be placing my order as soon as paypal clears... JD knows all about waiting on money from me.  :))

I made my order today but I came back to my PC and have not received anything from Paypal saying the transaction went through (no documentation proving I have actually paid for my order).  Is there something wrong on SP's website?

Normally when I pay through Paypal I get the payment invoice from them immediately but this time nothing at all.........  :-[

I received an email confirmation by Paypal telling me I authorized a payment to SP just after I placed my order.

So just to confirm:

Shift keys are Row 3. Will there be a minibuy later for Row 4 Shifts?

Have SP made the molds already for the 2x Row 1 Backspace key?

Are the main keys Gloss, Matte or Semi-Matte?

Are the bottom row mods in Gloss, Matte or Semi-Matte?

AFAIK, Matt3o is waiting for SP to make the required molds so he will run either Retro SA or Midnight SA towards end of October with full contour option, so I am wondering if these other molds are ready yet and it's just the Shifts that he is waiting for?
Buying more keycaps,
it really hacks my wallet,
but I must have them.

Yes.

Yes.

PuLSE will be totally manufactured with semi-matte top and sides finish.

AFAIK, Matt3o is waiting for SP to make the required molds so he will run either Retro SA or Midnight SA towards end of October with full contour option, so I am wondering if these other molds are ready yet and it's just the Shifts that he is waiting for?

If you want informations about Matt3o projects you're in the wrong thread.

Not being rude - but how am I supposed to know? Go ask him.
