red Electra dyesubs (or other serif font legend ideas)
« on: Mon, 08 September 2014, 01:08:23 »
(No disrespect meant to the Granite set, which is gorgeous...)

I feel like dyesubs are kind of wasted on rounded sans serif typefaces that look just like what you could produce as double-shots, or on boring Helvetica that looks like it comes directly from some corporate committee.

Why don’t we have any serifs on keycap legends? E.g.

(This is just a concept; would still need a lot of tweaking.)

Or here, lowercase Palatino:

Cool idea :thumb:

The color scheme is a bit bland, maybe play around with the colors a bit.

Keep it Upper Case because it's easily recognized from a distance what each letter is.  Makes it easier for 'Microsoft Windows' to select his type so easily with this font.

We should look at acquiring an all Serif Typeface for our keyboards because I think this could be the FIRST key-set, that should be sent to SP for manufacture.

Great idea. Wonder what typeface was used in some of the old typewriters that used ones with serifs.

An example:

To me, typewriter/terminal typefaces would also be something fun to see on keycaps.

I really like the idea of lowercase legends. I think that looks great!
