Ducky Shine 3 vs KBParadise V80

I'm really just curious about how the build and backlight quality compare between these two boards.

I've gotten recommendations to get clear switches over browns and the V80 just happens to have the option while fitting my preferred specs. They seem to really shine when they're modded, so I'm inclined to get the V80 with clears if the build quality is up-to-par.

I didn't even know KBparadise made a TKL.

Is it just me or does it look like the case from a Keycool but in the same finish as the keycaps. I would say the ducky is probably the better option.

The cap quality on that photo of the V80 don't look great, but I didn't have any complaints about the ones I had on my V60 (admittedly it was only for 5 minutes, but still) and the backlight quality is really good. Like, really good. Has pulse modes, easy to change the colour, lots of brightness settings, and the colour is really vivid.

But going up against a Ducky, it probably loses in every category. So I would say go for the Ducky.

Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

I've actually been looking at the V60. Considering getting them with either Cherry MX Whites or Clears. Massdrop also has a deal on Vortex Backlit Doubleshot PBT Caps that I'm definitely buying for whatever I end up choosing.

60% looks really slick, but does it work well for gaming? Between the V60 and the Ducky Mini, the V60 definitely looks better to me without that bezel. I just don't know if I'd ever get used to not having the arrow keys where I'm used to.

Well I played through BF3 on my V60 when I got it, and It worked quite well. I was using MX Greens though which made it a bit weird, but it definitely wasn't the form factor that was the strange part.

It is a great board.

:D Good on you! You won't regret it. I have no idea what whites feel like, but if they ever do an ISO version of the V60, those will be the switch I will get it in.

I actually went with the clears xD They fit my needs really well and I'd like to mod them at some point.
