Steelcase Think Chair
« on: Tue, 30 September 2014, 19:53:44 »
Just picked up a used one from craigslist, for $80 and it's so much better then all the crappy chairs I've had in the past, and pretty adjustable. Almost a better upgrade then a mechanical keyboard.
Don't really have any experience with nice chairs so I can't really compare but either way it was a steal at this price.

Arm rests adjust up and down, front to back and pivot in and out, along with and adjustable bottom that slides back and forth and reclining knob to adjust how far back you can recline, that's easily reachable while sitting. Also has an adjustable lumbar support.
The mesh is supported by flexible wire to conform to your shape. Doesn't seem like it would fit larger people to well though, but I guess no chair that comes in one size will fit everyone.

Really good buy...HM and Steelcase are both great chair manufacturers...As you said, a steal at 80..

Can't believe you only got it for 80 bucks.  Some more pics and detailed initial impressions would be nice. :)

80 bucks?! Sounds too good to be true. I always wanted a Think as my chair but their prices are too much for me, even if I save up my money.

Yea, I can't see myself ever spending $400+ on any chair. Check craigslist, if you live in/near a bigger city you can usually find good deals from people who have stock from business that failed etc. Guy I bought from had a whole garage full of different kinds of chairs.

Done, my impressions are good but that doesn't say much considering all my previous chairs have been hunks of crap.

80 bucks for a think is a steal. I bought a leap last year on craigslist for $250, and it looks like you got a pretty recent model too.

From the photo it looks as though your knees would mash into the front of your desk.

I'd give it a sitting before I got one, It's only rated too 300lbs already and it's not really a very big chair and only comes in one size.

I also picked up a Steelcase chair this weekend off of Craigslist. I'll have to confirm the model, but it looks like a Leap in cloth. This is by far the nicest chair I have ever owned. This chair is very heavy and extremely well built and has tons of adjustability. I wasn't crazy about the color of the fabric, but for the price it was hard to pass up.
