Halloween Keycap Extravaganza!!! [All gone]
« on: Sun, 19 October 2014, 15:35:49 »
HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

I am happy to announce that I have prepared some Halloween themed keycaps for this year. I'll admit that they are coming a LOTtle bit later than I wanted them too.

Sale Time:
October 22nd, 2014 @ 12:00 pm MST (I will be going off of Geekhack post time)
http://www.timeanddate.com/countdown/generic?iso=20141022T12&p0=220&msg=Halloween+Keycap+Extravaganza%21%21%21

Rules:
 - Only 2 keycaps per person...call them out by number please.
 - You have to post in this thread which ones you want.
 - Any posts for keycaps before the countdown has ended will be ignored.
 - Posts after the countdown is finished that are edited will be dismissed.
 - All other rules from my main thread apply.

!?!Here they are!?!
80237-0

Brace yourself! ;)

I am currently painting zombie keycaps and will be staying up late in an attempt to finish them before the sale. I will upload pictures once they are ready.

I did the ArachnoCaps first and didn't think of the GID until after they were done. I'll be sure to include it for next years batch.

Can I ask, have these been tested for wear by anyone? I know OP has been selling these painted caps for awhile, so I wonder if anyone has an idea. These are actually fairly neat, and it's nice to see some BS and T love.

I've tested them myself with a spacebar and WASD cluster.

The WASD cluster has been taking abuse for 6 months now and I haven't been able to wear through the Lacquer I use as a protective coating.

The spacebar has worn through where the thumb rests right on the edge. This is a work keyboard though so it sees A LOT of use and this didn't start happening until after 6 months of use.
I'm still looking for the best clear, spray on protection but lacquer is the best I've found so far.

These are great. I'd just move them to my FN row on the higher numbers, where they can stand out even better!

Your countdown is counting down to 12pm tomorrow in my local time zone (eastern). You might want to specify the zone on it or just remove it so people don't get confused.

That's odd....it should be showing Mountain Standard Time.

Can we post multiple numbers in order of preference?

Or limit to 2 numbers called out per person?

Just 2 per person. If they don't all sell within the first day I'll allow people to request more.

I meant more that someone can post 3,4,5,6 but the person right before him calls 3, so that someone would get 4,5 but not 6

I've got mixed opinions on this method. Mainly because what's stopping someone from just putting 1 through 15 in an attempt to just get one.

What does everybody else think?

If you allow it, people will do it. But there are also people who will only put three or four down. I know I was contemplating that, but then I saw you weren't allowing it. It's your sale, your rules. Fastest person wins. Also, there is a small window where people can edit. Perhaps you might consider an email sale, a la click clack? No editing, allow people to list all they want, in order of desire, you start from the first received and work your way down.

i never win at these.........

i have a life outside of GH believe it or not, but the seller has within their right to make the rules as they please :thumb:

I like the email idea but I feel it is to soon to change the rules now.

For now please only post two at a time and not a list. If the ones you ask for get taken you may have time to post a separate two.

After this Halloween batch is finished I will be starting up my Batches again....after I finish Batch 7 of course.

I'm glad everyone's keycaps are standing the test of time. I coat the HOLY crap out of them to make sure they don't wear off. That's why I use a painted WASD cluster. I want to know before anyone else when the clear coat wears off.

I probably shouldn't be advertising your caps more right before your next sale as that hurts my chances xD

Anyway, here's the one I bought from the last sale:

Can I list two in order of preference, even if I only want to buy one? Or can I only list my single most wanted cap?

Don't have the money to buy two right now or I would.  ;D

That is fine with me. If you happen to get both keycaps I can just award the second one to the next person that asked for it.

The zombie keycaps won't be ready in time. I'm putting a bit more detail into them because I to...have a thing for zombies.

I don't know what happened but the one I was painting last night has disappeared so if the zombie outbreak starts soon...I'm sorry. ;)

No need to apologize, a zombie apocalypse would be fun.

Well, I'm looking forward to the zombie caps sale then!!  :thumb:

Number 12, if that's gone, then number 8!

Thanks for doing an awesome Halloween sale!
