Nope.

Crude has dropped to it's lowest price in what, four years? And prices are only as low as they were at this time last year.

We have to pay about £1.26 for petrol and more than £1.30 for diesel.
Can we get them to build the Alps ten feet higher and get Cherry to pay for it?

The Chevron I normally go to usually had prices $3.85-90 for 93 octane. It's not $3.70.

134.9 cents per litre for petrol yesterday in Australia (in at least one petrol station in Melbourne, to be specific).

The term "gas" is usually used to refer to liquefied petroleum gas over here (LPG).
"Because keyboards are accessories to PC makers, they focus on minimizing the manufacturing costs. But that’s incorrect. It’s in HHKB’s slogan, but when America’s cowboys were in the middle of a trip and their horse died, they would leave the horse there. But even if they were in the middle of a desert, they would take their saddle with them. The horse was a consumable good, but the saddle was an interface that their bodies had gotten used to. In the same vein, PCs are consumable goods, while keyboards are important interfaces." - Eiiti Wada

Cents are only discontinued in cash transactions. Plus, gas stations get to make those extra couple cents when 1/10th of a cent rounds up! :p

(...)Whereas back then I wrote about the tyranny of the majority, today I'd combine that with the tyranny of the minorities. These days, you have to be careful of both. They both want to control you. The first group, by making you do the same thing over and over again. The second group is indicated by the letters I get from the Vassar girls who want me to put more women's lib in The Martian Chronicles, or from blacks who want more black people in Dandelion Wine.
I say to both bunches, Whether you're a majority or minority, bug off! To hell with anybody who wants to tell me what to write. Their society breaks down into subsections of minorities who then, in effect, burn books by banning them. All this political correctness that's rampant on campuses is b.s.

I drive to a nearby town that has the cheapest gas around, which was $3.14.9 last time I filled up. If I fill up anywhere else, it's usually $3.35.9 or more.

Per gallon.

Speaking of gas, it bothers me that its really tough to get ethanol free gas in the states. Always 5-10% is included.

You can't properly use two decimals in one number.  It would be $3.149 or 314.9 cents.  That's quite the price jump though.

is it true that in cali the gas prices can be 14 bucks a gallon?

I'd call BS on that.  Though CA is known for being a little different.  :P

Have you explored this site?  I will admit I just found it right now, so I'm not terribly familiar with it, but it seems like there are quite a few options.  AFAIK, only IA and NE should be difficult to ethanol-free, as they have state laws requiring it.

Yup, it comes to about $7.76 a US gallon for us here in Finland at the price I last filled up. At least it's better quality and 98 octane, but still....

$3.29/gallon today in North County San Diego.  Cheapest I have seen it in a long time.  Even though the gas in California is usually more than the rest of the Conus, it is still far cheaper than many places in the world.

Sooo.... you use liters and Celsius, but not kg? Screw your inconsistent use of decimal measures!!

Why doesn't everyone use SI units like the civilised countries do?   km, kg, liters, Kelvin and Celsius, Pascals, Newtons, Watts, Joules, etc. And yes, Celsius is an SI unit of measurement, albeit a derived one: http://physics.nist.gov/cuu/Units/SIdiagram.html

It has dropped a few pennies here recently to about £1.29 per liter of diesel.

Let's put that into perspective - that is about  $7.84 per US gallon  :( .

Fuel in the UK is not cheap.

Tax kingdom reporting in. i think its under 13 swedish crown now per litre, its almost 4 litres in a gallon  52 crowns per gallon which would be like ~7,5$ per gallon, down from ~8$ :)

dammit, even northern somalia is cheaper than the UK

I find it a little ironic that Norway has the highest average gasoline price per liter of all countries in this list at $2.33 per liter when their economy is largely supported by local oil: http://www.globalpetrolprices.com/gasoline_prices/

you mean petrol is usually more expensive than diesel fuel?

whats wrong with somalia?
with the northern one? taxes, prices, asylum seekers. climate is far from perfect. not that much sunshine. even beer can only be bought in liquor stores. school education is thought to not be very good. violent gangs here and there.
well, it's all i can recall from memory.

No,here its more expensive to buy diesel now, price shifted some years ago when the new diesel environmental cars were released. And diesel rose in popularity

$1.30 CAD per Liter in Northern Ontario. That's $1.15 a Liter USD. That's $4.92 CAD a Gallon or $4.38 USD a Gallon.

It only took ya four tries to get it right...

 :p
Screw your systems!! Liters are the obvious choice. We buy our pop (yes, POP) by the liter, milk by the liter and gas by the liter! What the hell is a gallon anyway? I'll tell you! It's a giant less accurate measurement of volume, that's what!! The same goes for your kilograms and your Fahrenheit crap!!

Wat.  We don't use kilograms here, boy!

Though, I wish we did use SI units...  :-/  They just make so much more sense...    :'(

We use metric or whatever you call it down here, except for monitor sizes, which are still in inches.

Although one person I know wanted to buy a "two and a half foot" monitor.  Haven't heard it put quite like that before.

:))   Hahaha, I love that.  I should start doing that from now on, just to accentuate the fact that Imperial units are super goofy.

One article I read on the topic suggests that Saudi Arabia is keeping production high (and driving prices lower) to put pressure on competitor producers, who need a higher per barrel price to make a profit.  Sounds like a sort of petro-dollar warfare.
