Update: The caps are pretty thick, but do indeed appear to be pad printed, or unlikely, laser with infill. You can feel the symbols.
There's some shine, but the off-white colour hides shine better than some others, so I'm speculating ABS.
Unlike the AEKII, the stabilizers for numpad enter and zero are in the "normal" position, and the function row is not rotated 90 degrees. I suspect it will fill the "keycap donor" purpose okay. Gotta pick up some cleanser though.
The board itself is surprisingly pleasant-- it feels solid and the layout's not hideous if you're comfortable that that weird "ANSI with an ISO enter" layout you usually see on G80-8200s.
