Default Just Picked Up Another CST LaserTrak - $52

Link.

I'm pretty much using my CST LaserTrak full time these days so decided to pick up an extra for modding.

This model does not have the built in extra switch ports but I expect it to have the same PCB and so I'll pull leads off the unused pads. I plan on adding two Cherry Clear switches to the side of the case (I think). Also, I'll play with bringing the DPI LED to outside the case. It's a fun Trackball to mod and comes with SW for full configurability, unlike the Kensington line.

Good news, the PCB is exactly the same. So all I did was solder in leads to the open pads. Both trackballs work using the same driver that sets up custom switch settings for keystrokes (whatever). But the DPI can be run independently for multi-trackballing.

I might have to try out one of those CSTs; they look pretty sweet. I have my eyes set on one of those new Mad Catz mice, though.

Wait. Is today Saturday?

Yea I keep thinking I need to pick one up myself. I would really like a higher dpi track ball and this one seems to fit the bill the best.

Well this one was certainly a pretty good deal. When I opened it up though I could tell it had been used (food crumbs and a few hairs). I complained to the seller since it had been listed as new and proposed he give me $10 back. He agreed and we're now both happy. Good communication is the key to handling disputes on Ebay.

Modifying your CST LaserTrac post is here: Link a Blink.

When you complain to the seller, ALWAYS suggest an outcome that makes you happy. Good communication PLUS don't leave them guessing. That's my key to success on eBay.
