I opened this up today to see if I could re wire the left space as backspace.
Its very well made with mitsumi electrics (is that right?) and steel plates behind the membrane. I couldn't however work out where the backspace trace went to. I would need a pin map then it would be quite easy to splice the space into backspace. I will ask the manufacturer if they will send me one. |

> This is a joy to type on despite the rubber domes.
> something about them makes them feel like a lot more than just domes. I found a $5 USD Goldtouch today at a flea market, and was astounded to find it has rubber domes. They are tight and smooth and comfortable for someone who is used to brown Cherrys on a Kinesis Contour. YMMV.

I've had Goldtouch for about a year, not sure how keys felt felt new, as I got it used. But on mine the feeling is unmistakable, you can definitely tell it's rubber domes. After trying several types of mechanical keyboards, I don't want to go back. So all in all I would not recommend Goldtouch if you don't like rubber domes.

I bought mine new, and yes, it's unmistakably rubber dome. Also there were a few times during testing when keypresses didn't respond, as I pressed too lightly. Maybe it's a matter of adjusting to it, or it beds in with use, but I found that disappointing.
I still might recommend it to someone suffering from RSI, or wanting to avoid it. The adjustability and softness could be just what they need. But it isn't one of my 'go to' keyboards.
