Nice review.

If someone gets one and has a camera please take a pic next to a standard keyboard.

Yes, please. It is a little shorter than a Filco Tenkeyless, much thinner (only about an 1") and little less wide, if that helps. I don't have a camera anymore, and until I get my Palm Pre, I won't have anything available that has a decent resolution to take a pic with. I don't like hiring Mr. Blurrycam, either. Poor quality pics don't help.

Mr Blurrycam - the favored camera of Ebay Sellers everywhere!

For artistic effect they blow lots of yellowy nicotine smoke into the picture.

Looks pretty nifty. Now, why oh why can't Unicomp make something like that with buckling sleeve switches?

The size would be nice, but it would be thicker and much less portable (and probably heavier). For portability, it would need to have scissors or Cherry MLs.

nice 'balanced' review. pros and cons and all that.

are the scissor switches on this board pretty standard fare in terms of feel? anything about them stand out?

tell me about it :)

Since jim ignored my most recent email I'm guessing the unicomp folks are busy pulling out the winnebago getting ready for retirement. As someone said, maybe in 20 years bs wont even be manufactured anymore and XM, cherry, and Topre will be left standing. (I guess I'd better save up for a topre).

They are so PO'd at Welly they have decided to get out of keyboards and into the Call Center business and compete against India.

Less stressful.

Hey, Smilies don't count as a post.

Keep that up and I'll have to write a macro.

You post, I post TWICE.

It's called Mutually Assured Destruction for a reason!

If you have used a Dell Laptop keyboard, you've used these. I can't really feel the difference. I think the I-Rocks might be a little stiffer, but that might come with time.

Well, I'd recommend the nickels trick but they're sure to give this high number that makes them look like more work than reality. At least that's what happened with my scissor switch netbook.

My IBM M4-1 is pretty light (same weight as an OEM rubber dome board), and whilst the unit itself is somewhat bulky, having opened one up, I'd say that a more streamlined one could be made easily enough.

Glad you said that. I'll have to be sure my 6820E review includes the nickels test.

Nice review, itlnstln. I'm glad I wasn't first. By the time I'm ready for my review in a few days, I can cheat, steal what I like from your organization.

My bad. I thought your original post said "Buckling Spring" switches. Ignore what I said, then.
