Introduction:

The current GMK White-on-Black sets available on Drop and Originative have great coverage, but still miss out on providing coverage for many different layouts. The idea behind these kits is to add some more compatibility options to this iconic set that aren't currently available, that we have been seeing in recent extension kits. The keycaps are CR with WS1 legends, matching with GMK WoB of course.

When?

The GB will run from Monday 23rd March through to Friday 24th April, lasting roughly a month.

Kits:

40s
The 40s kit aims to give coverage to as many different board layouts as possible not included in the original kit. This kit gives 40s, split and ergonomic boards compatibility as well as having 1.50 backspace for split backspace users, and a 1.25 BoW tab to make GMK Minimal compatible with staggered 40s.

Colevrak+
This kit adds compatibility to many different typing layouts.

R0/R5 Compatibility
This kit adds R0 and R5 compatibility to GMK White-on-Black for a full cherry profile.

(full cherry profile; currently most kits have two sets of R1 and R4 instead of R0 and R5)

Extra:

My friend nvmbra is running a separate mini GB for those who want additional text modifiers for the 40s and R5 kits. These are limited availability and will not ship together with this GB.

I'll post new graphs every time I get new numbers from ttom. I think every proxy shares their numbers with him. But in my experience proxies never send updates simultaneously, so usually some proxies are outdated.

Please post the GB link everywhere you can think of. Anything to help meet MOQs is good for all involved!

There was just a preorder open for them, with shipping starting yesterday so you could easily locate a set on mechmarket probably. Bear in mind these add-ons will be shipping towards the end of the year (or early next year) so you have plenty of time to locate that set even if you order now

People aren't going to switch because, besides this kit and a few earlier kits (big designers have already suggested that colevrak will no longer be supported), GMK sets aren't going to include colevrak. GMK/designers aren't going to include colevrak because not enough people use it. That cyclical circle of failure is going to keep the sets low

I have a few arguments against this, but of course, they’ll never be heard.

You know I understand why doubleshot legends are so difficult to get over the line, but I don’t quite understand why dye sub should also be so challenging. That annoys me more than gmk or doubleshot caps since I feel like it’s simply a lack of effort or desire to support colevrak or other odd legends.

Yeah, I hear you, sadly the truth. I'm already amazed that I managed to get two kits that support Colemak-DH, this one included, though GMK Pulse also has support for it I believe, sadly getting that on Drop would cost me more than $350...

I'm very happy I got in on Pulse with its ColevrakDH support. It even has multiple options for the ; key which I rarely use and have been moving around as I play with different layouts. Mito has been pretty good to us. Others, not so much. But I get it too - we're a niche and if we're not making MOQ, the vendor has to take that on.

The plan is to open it up again for a bit when I have more time. Before that I'd like to wrap up my other Mini GB(only waiting on labels) and I have yet to receive the invoice for this Mini GB.

This is correct. Nothing is happening with my side of the GB - still waiting on the GMK invoice. Only units that are going to be available are vendor extras.

The kit shown in the thread is no longer up to date but it went into production. I haven’t heard back from MK yet.
A few kits should be available to buy directly through MK after WoB Extensions has shipped and you’ll be able to buy single keys from me directly.

I can't say I know any more than that they shipped to mykeyboard with the rest of the kits. I was sent mine directly from them.

What happened with this? I got reminded after seeing someone mention r0/r5

I had to wait a long time on the invoice and then again some to have it shipped from MK. It wasn't automatically processed because it was a manual order.

All orders were sent off the same day I received the keycaps, last Friday. I also added some extra keycaps.
Everyone should have received them by now or they will arrive within the next few days. The tracking numbers were added to the Paypal invoices tied to the respective orders.
