Not sure how I feel about the one lonely island Insert key. IS that the intended knob support position?
Edit: Is the circle in the middle of the keyboard a knob? I'm so confused.
-
i prefer a key than a knob in that position. it's so,umm, unnatural
but it's still a good design. i like it. will closely watch this

The circle in the middle is a knob,Knobs control the volume. It's programmable. The original design was not like this, the knob used to be above the arrow keys, but the knob was shorter and touched the keycaps during operation, so I changed the position of it.So I removed one of the keys and moved the knob up
-
Can the plate not have tabs on the side of the case? Seems to make installing gaskets more complicated with different sizes on top of it making the board more stiff. I think gasket tabs on the top and bottom only will make the board feel better and less complicated to build.
-
That angle is close to a wrist breaker.
Is the angle finalized or are there any chances of lowering it?
-
Since it's named after the Nordic god Odin, it would be cool to see Runes on the weight.
Or the vegvisir rune symbol on the weight, which mean't ''Driections'' which was a symbol carried on charms & Jewels to help people through storms by Odin.
or make the board have some type of connection with Odin to make sense with the name.
-
Can you adjust the angle? it's so high.
-
Lower angle, another key instead of a knob and I'd be in.
-
treeleaf64 approved
-
I'll chime in too with the calls for lower angle and removing the knob or at least moving it, but more importantly...
ISO
PLEASE!
-
bottom looks like a corny 1.2og...maybe I am alone. Not sure how I feel about that button/knob in that location, sort of makes the numpad feel like a separate entity instead of being part of the board.
-
High key a bit... Peculiar? (ugly)
it doesn't need to have a knob for no reason.. also these renders are inconsistent
fix these and I think it'll be alright
-
9 degrees is too steep.
Love the rotary encoder.
Love the key above it.
This has just about everything I have been looking for in my next build. A perfect antidote for the endless stream of 60/67% boards. Just lower the angle and I'm in.
-
Other than the steep angle (as others said), I really think the rotary encoder should heighten a little bit compared than what is shown in current renders.
Imagine having an SA profile on this with the height of the rotary encoder so low.
-
Hmmm. this looks great for a keeb for my office. gonna be keeping an eye on this!
-
Looks good, however it'll be better to lower the typing angle, maybe to 7-8 degrees. Not really sure about the rotary since it seems to sit so low.
-
9 degrees is ok, 10 would be better
-
Weird. I kinda like it tho
-
This board is really nice, extra key and rotary encoder and all. I really dislike the tall knobs on other boards. IMO they should never be taller than the height of cherry profile R1. I'm happy with the short knob as long as it is easy to use.
9 degree angle is awful. 5 degree is much better, more ergonomic and more aesthetically pleasing. I've used a MARS 8.0 with an 8 degree angle and hated it. My wrists start screaming at me.
-
I’m digging this. Really would like some more color options but really nice looking board and something different
-
I absolutely love the knob location, size, and height. The weight and usb c "block" are kinda odd? The angle is way too high, but other than that, it looks really good.
-
Angle is definitely too high. Definitely recommend going 5 to 7.5 degrees on the typing angle.
-
im interested. especially if there's more color options
-
I like that KBDfans offers great bang for your buck. I like the side-profile. I do not like how blatantly the bottom attempts to mimic the style of Matrix boards.
-
I'm mostly with Justin on this one.
I also agree that the angle seems a little too high.
Currently undecided on how I feel about the knob.
-
Not a huge fan of the weight and usb c badge/cover design but outside of that I like it. I personally quite like the angle but would be fine with lower at long as its 6 or higher.
edit- an alu plate option would be dope
-
ISO
PLEASE!
From the website linked:

That's ISO, split everything (except Space) and stepped Caps Lock so you're good.
-
Maybe you could do without the side gaskets and just do the top 3, might decrease rigidity centered around the lateral aspects and provide a little more flex
-
WKL option, lower angle and a more prominent knob for easy access. Always nice to see more full size / 1800 layouts.
-
If possible I would like to see the side gaskets removed, at least for an experiment as I really wasn't happy with how rigid the D65 was due to those side gaskets.
Would also like to see some different knob avail if possible. I would say either make the knob more pronoucned in the design or remove it entirely imo.
Otherwise, it's looking like a really interesting full size

Odin looks great, I think the 9-degree angle is fine. I, too take issue with the knob though. It needs a feature to grab more than that tiny point.
Love that white-on-grey keyset, anyone know if it exists ?
-
I for one love the knob. But I agree the typing angle may be a little too steep.
I love to scroll and the idea of being able to do it with out having to move my hand to my mouse sounds awesome. You mentioned volume control but I assume encoder functionality is programmable?
Also, I think I really like the weight and usbc badge. Its fun without being obnoxious.
-
The one gripe that would stop me from buying it is the numpad. I live on numpads for work, but I cannot live without my 2u 0 key.
-
i dig the different nature of the knob position here. even though i got away from full sized layouts this peaks my interests for sure
-
Will this have ESD protection? I don't necessarily mind the knob but I do wish it was slightly lower and would rather see a 2u 0 key.
-
Agreed that 9 seems a bit high of an angle. And the knob is just strange.
That grey color looks amazing though. Also I've been looking for a solid full size at a decent price. Hope this can make it there.

Did ai03 design it

Did ai03 design it
All of the boards that are currently in IC on the KBDFans website (Hello HHKB, D45, Odin) were designed by Wei.
-
There was talk on the website of decreasing the angle, I hope they go for 7* instead, it will be a much better typing angle!
-
Finally a custom keyboard in the full size territory!
Love the knob position, really makes great use of the extra space on a compact full size lay out like this.
Is is possible to have a shallower angle? 5-7 seems to be standard. If people want a steep keyboard they can just tilt it up, but if it's steep by default it's steep forever.
-
I dont know what to feel about this but good luck good luck!
-
Hot dang yes, this is relevant to my interests.
Also love the large low-profile knob, there's a reason professional gear has infinite scrollers set up like that more often than not.
-
The knob looks weird tbh. I like the "98%" layout a lot if you would call it that but the knob seems out of place
-
+1 to decreasing the angle. The knob seems like it would be easy to accidentally touch while jumping from the alphas to the numpad.
-
knob is def "just to have something different". i dont like it, feels out of place. echo the angle too high sentiment as well.
-
They said on kbdfans comments for this board that they’re going to change the angle to 7 degrees
-
Is there any news regarding this keyboard? I've been looking for a fullsize for a while and I wouldn't want to miss my chance with this one.
-
I'll probably end up getting this, but only if that angle is lowered. Something around 7 would be ideal, over 8 I wouldn't use.
-
Is this a knob for DJs to randomly scratch?
-

Apparently elsewhere they've confirmed they're lowering the angle to 7 degrees.
-
I personally would prefer a flat typing angle, with legs for those who prefer the tilt.
I'm on the fence here, but I do think it's a handsome looking concept.
-
100% fix layout.....meaning no ISO possible?
It looks really good. And as someone looking for a full-size board for work, this would really be something I'd consider. But I need that ISO.....

Very interested in this layout. Any recent updates on this project?

I just love it so far. I have been looking for a decent 1800 Keyboard for ages now and i really hope this thing will become reality.
Please add ISO Support
-
Very interested in this, hope it becomes reality.
-
9 degrees is too too steep .
-
QMK/VIA support please - been noticing more and more ICs/GBs by KBD that are starting to not have this.

It looks like they've updated theIC page at KBDFans: https://kbdfans.com/collections/interest-checks/products/ic-kbdfans-d1000-mechaincal-keyboard (https://kbdfans.com/collections/interest-checks/products/ic-kbdfans-d1000-mechaincal-keyboard) and I don't see any mention of QMK/VIA. I think it's a disappointing trend and it's the main reason that I didn't jump in on the Mountain Ergo. I hope they can add support here.
-
looks like they got rid of the knob and added a hot swap option.
Either way im still interested, im a 1800 fan boi.
-
Just pre-ordered, hopefully this will fulfill my 1800 satisfaction... Still not a 100% though, and I wish they still existed. That'll be my endgame: a 100% aluminum keyboard with aluminum plate with box jades.
-
Convinced one of my SO's cousin to get this. It was either KBDfans Odin or zambumon's SAR, whichever was first to group buy. Odin won.
-
someone mentioned the sound test was hollowed as if there was no sound dampening, and now the sound test video is deleted. I wonder why.
-
Will this be sold exclusively via kbdfans store?
Import fees are sick here...
