Title: All Keyboards with Costar Stabilizers
Post by: morpheus on Fri, 06 February 2015, 08:15:40
Haven't been active for a while on here....I think it's time to get back in the game.

I am looking for any and all Cherry keyboards with costar stabilizers.

Sorry if this sounds incredibly lazy of me, but please indulge me!

Thanks bros.

KeyCool has Costar stabilisers, at least my year or more old KeyCool 87 with MX switches has.

Can't say about the newer KeyCool with Kailh switches.

Thanks for the replies bros!

Would you know of any more cheaper-ish China made boards?

One exception to the list: CMStorm Quickfire Rapid-i has Cherry stabs.

I haven't removed a stabilised cap from my Kailh KC board yet. But I'm sure CPT Badass mentions it in his review...

Kailh versions of Cherry stabs. You even commented about them in his review ;)

I agree with this, although some boards require that you desolder the switch to get the stabilisers in / out. I consider Cherry stabs to be better than Costar for a few reasons:

1. Less hassle when swapping caps.
2. No problems with thick caps (Costar wires can rub the inside of thicker keycaps).
3. Less rattles, although this seems to be a bit inconsistent, since the spacebar stabilisers from the two Cherry G80 boards I bought are rather rattly whereas my KBT Pure and Ducky G2Pro are much less so. Go figure, I like the "genuine" product less than the "copies".

I hate Costar stabilizers for having to change or move anything. Already pondering leaving all the stabilized keys on when I clean this board out. Took the 0 off numpad recently to check which this has and it took like four tries before I could get it back on without one side of the wire popping out of the stabilizer base while I remounted the keycap. -_-
