Very tempted to join. I just don’t know how well Vilebloom would go with RAL1013 though

look here:

Can we get some pics of what the bottom and inside of these cases look like?

https://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=103257.msg2861577#msg2861577

screw access holes in the corners will get smaller. they don't need to be that big.

and here:

That's much more helpful, thanks!
But still, can there be some views of the inside? like inner sides of the bottom/top case,
And, most importantly, picture showing how pcb and plate are mounted.
Sorry if those are already displayed somewhere that I missed, please throw a link.
Thanks again.

Update:
I found mounting animation at https://heavymetalkeyboards.com/
structure is pretty clearly shown there, but still can't find photos of the actual inside.

I'm not really sure what you expect to see inside? There is just the plate and the PCB inside, noting else hides there. You can find another picture here, first page of the IC:

The beige (RAL1013) would not be a good fit with Vilebloom, IMO.

My apologies if this is addressed elsewhere, but is the 60% the only one with speaker support?
I wonder what all those extra headers are for in some of the pics of the other pcbs...

yes, the 60 is the only one

I wonder what all those extra headers are for in some of the pics of the other pcbs...

they are not relevant for the HMKB builds.

Just joined the GB! super stoked for a compact 1800 layout finally :)

one quick question, I noticed at the corners there are small cracks where the bent sheets join. Do you have any insight as to how much dust will get inside? I like the touch, but I'm afraid it's gonna get dusty inside real quick haha

thanks for joining, happy you like it!

cracks? dust?
it has bent flanges and the designs emphasizes that, rather than trying to hide that fact. so it is somewhat open, yes. does that make any difference thought? any keyboard is open anyway. there is that big cutout where the keys go through ;)

the gaps between the keys - thats where all kinds of stuff enters the keyboard. mechanical keyboard aren't dust proof in any way at all.
how much junk enters your keeb is more up to you and your desk life. you can't eliminate the gaps between the keys. btw, the gap between bezel and keys is actually pretty tight on HMKB.

getting your caps off from time to time and clean it is a good idea for any mechanical keyboard.

The fold gap is on the edges and vertical, you will get most of your dust and debris from the gaps in between each keys.

Just joined the group buy as my first build and I'm very excited!

I ordered the HMKB75 Full right column, and I'm trying to figure out what size spacebar stabilizer will work with this layout? I saw that there are options between 6.25u or 7u when looking for stabilizers. Still new to all this  ;)

Thanks in advance!

Howdy, I am thinking of putting in one more keyboard order (was a pre-backer, have two boards ordered at the moment).

Would you automatically know that it's the same person ordering and combine the shipping or would I pay shipping again? Can I amend a previously paid order? Thanks!

I think you can go 6u, 6.25u, and/or 7u. Depends on how you want the bottom row is.

HMKB outdoor

I took some more pictures outside today. These are some of the earlier prototypes (batch two and three). All at different angles, 6°, 10° and 12°. A lot asked about the bottom side, here you can see it in good lighting conditions (Cloudy sky but still ok). Yes, just a plain and boring surface, pretty much nothing to see there. No logo, nothing. The screw access holes in the corners of the bottom are quite big in the prototypes, they will be smaller in the production units. In the one closeup shot you can see that the same grommets that are used for isolating the plate are also utilized between top and bottom parts. Furthermore those same grommets act as feet.

OG Cherry with RGB MOD on HMKB-80 grey

HMKB beige was chosen specifically with OG Cherry keycaps (or GMK 9009) in mind and of course those are a perfect fit. However, some had asked if those keycaps might also go well with the HMKB grey.
So I did some renders of this combination:

Next I'll do some more renders of Dolch on HMKB grey. Great news that Dolch with R5 will be back soon. Those will be the last renders I'll do, no more after that, I'm really tired of doing renders :(

You now have to do a render of one of your keyboards with a keycap set that doesn't go well with it, just to see if it's possible.

(each render makes me more anxious to get my HMKBs already!)

The color combos are awesome. If I could swing more than one I might go for GMK Lux on yellow HMKB. Also, would it be sacrilege to cerakote a SS HMKB? What about BoW on a red HMKB? For a professional office, the Deep Navy on SS is a real statement IMO. All around, very nice work!

Take another look in the OP, look for HMKB-65 with Dolch and HMKB-65 with GMK TARO R2.
I don't think there is a 65 prototype without blockers.

GMK Carbon on HMKB-65 Beige

Although the HMKB beige is chosen with OG beige cherry keycaps (or GMK 9009) in mind, other sets with beige also work pretty well, imo. Here it is with GMK Carbon, latest round that came with R5:
