Good evening to all of our Classy friends! I'm here to share the news of the day.
We have set a date for the Group Buy! On the 29th August at 10pm (22:00) GMT+2, spots for the Classy TKL will be available until all 100 are claimed.

We’re incredibly excited to release this project to the public, and we can’t thank you enough for your support and patience.

Included in our Assembly Service:
- Stabilizer modification - Clipping* & lubing your stabilizers.
- Soldering the switches of your choice.

- Testing the PCB and switches once soldering is finished*.
*All PCBs shall be tested before shipping regardless if a customer purchases the assembly service or not.

Payment options: We will be using Stripe as our payment processor instead of Paypal, as Paypal has shown itself to be extremely unreliable. Both for Masterworks and your sake.

Stripe offers the following payment methods:

Included in the "Classy TKL - kit":
- Anodized aluminium top piece (Anodization colour of your choice; Deep Black or Dark Grey).
- Anodized aluminium bottom piece (Anodization colour of your choice; Deep Black or Dark Grey).
- Brass weight.
- Switch plate (Material and layout of your choice; Polycarbonate or Brass / WKL ANSI or - WKL ISO.)
- PCB (QMK & VIA compatible) Designed by 4pplet.
- USB-C Daughterboard + JST cable.
- 2x Anti-static sound dampening foam (plate and case foam)
- All necessary screws to assemble the kit.
- Rubber feet

Shipping will be handled by DHL Express and they are confident in their ability to deliver to most countries within 2-6 days.

Regarding Deskmats, we are waiting patiently for the prototypes to arrive, and we can't announce the GB date for the deskmats until we have confirmed their quality. We are aiming to launch both Group Buys simultaneously and we will announce the date ASAP. The deskmats will however run for a longer period of time as it's an unlimited sale. We are estimating at least a month’s time for the deskmats group buy. Final vendors are still being selected.

Sale type. The Group Buy for the Classy TKL will be a FCFS limited to 100 units. The sale will go live on our website at the time presented above. We will publish the website prior to the group buy so everyone has a chance to look around.

Fulfillment time, we're estimating to start shipping out orders within 3,5-4 months after the GB ends. Orders that include the assembly service will ship out after all unassembled kits are shipped.

Final prototype
The Dark grey prototype has been received and approved, pictures of the prototype will be posted in this thread and on the website at the end of the week.

Changes
Changes that have been made to the final prototype:
- Masterworks logo over the USB-C port
- Total height has been raised to let the keycaps sink down properly (No gap between keycaps and top piece)
- Plate mount has been adjusted to optimize typing experience.

This is the lowest price I could possible get at the amount of units produced. The only profits are for safety reasons to be able to cover possible defects.

I feel the same way about the mustache at first. Since it's just a bottom weight and I won't be looking at it after assembly, I've come to terms with it. It would look super smashing with the masterworks logo instead IMHO.

Stripe is a business payment processor. You don't create an account there as a customer.
You only create one if you want to sell stuff yourself through your own store.
Shopify uses Stripe as their default payment processor.

I just checked your shop and your VAT calculation is completely off.

I added a PCB for 49€ to the cart and the VAT calculation says 22€ which can not be right.

VAT in germany is 16% (usually 19% but it's temporarily lowered rn).

Even with the 39€ shipping (which imho is quite expensive for a package from Sweden to Germany) the VAT should be 14€.

the VAT percentage is based of the Swedish cost. According to our laws that is the amount that needs to be charged!

Yep it's the grey one.
Switches are most likely going to be black inks but plans might change since I have to wait for GMK Apollo first.

Good morning!

!IMPORTANT!
Just wanted to remind you to use the plate foam if you want the best typing experience, the PC-plate was designed to be as flexible as possible WITH the plate foam.
It's extra thin and the flex cuts are brutal, the reason for this design is to keep the dampened sound signature while still maintaining a flexy typing experience.

The same goes for the brass plate, but the foam isn't as neccessary in that combo.

PC plate with foam is flexy so much that the PCB touches the back of the case. PC Plate cutouts for stabilizers were smaller but they fit with force. Other than that, everything about this keyboard is great in my opinion. I like this keyboard.

Unfortunately it’s not just the pc plate with stabilizer cutout issues.  My brass plate will not fit over durock stabilizers.  Unfortunately that’s all I have on hand.   Sadge

Was planning to build today.

Did some digging and found a box of stabilizers I had forgotten about. 

From my testing in the brass plate:

I highly recommend you pick up some zeal stabilizers if you build this one.


A no-brainer for most but I thought I would mention it here:
The plate foam isn't cut for stepped caps, so you'll have to make that cut before putting it together

The screws that go through the plate and into the top housing are a probably bit too long.  I think you could have gone with a shorter screw.  I very carefully cleaned out the holes with some Iso and a micro dental applicator.  Lots of gunk all the way at the bottom preventing the screw from going in all the way, resulting in a loose plate.  With careful cleaning I was able to get it all tight.  I used paper washers on two of the screws b/c I didn't feel comfortable tightening them further, risking them getting locked in place (it's happened one too many times for me in the past ).

I built mine with the Black housing/White stem JWK POM switches.  I put 205g0 on the stems and springs.  This might be the best sounding keyboard I've built to date.  Really happy with the outcome
