I have an open but unused GMK 3Run + Standard extras kit (put on keyboard, but then decided to sell that keyboard so took it back off). I've only seen like 2 or 3 listings for 3Run around so far, and I'm not sure how much opening the kit devalued it. What could I list it for?

I think it's worth ~$95 and the left shift looks a little crooked.

I bought a dead CM Storm Novatouch TKL with Topre switches from another geekhack member. I believe the microcontroller or another chip is defective. I've tested the basic stuff: no broken wires, voltage all across the board, no loose components or dried soldering. I've tried starting it in BSL mode, but no luck there. I've tried connecting it to my Linux Mint desktop and Windows laptop, both through a hub and directly. The device simply does not show up. The microcontroller heats up though. TL;DR not a trivial problem. It has original caps on it.

I would like to try to rewire the keys using a Teensy, however, before I attempt this, I'd also like to know what I could get for the keyboard if it were functional AND programmable. There is quite some information available on this keyboard: http://vekkt0r.github.io/articles/novatouch-tkl-reverse-engineering-part-1/ Writing or modifying software shouldn't be an issue since I'm quite familiar with programming.

So my questions are:
- How much could I still get for the keyboard in this state?
- How much could I get for it if it were functional and programmable?

Thank you in advance!

If you do this do it for the fun and experience, don't expect to make any money. You're not going to be able to get more than retail price and will spend a ton of time on it.

The value of it as-is will be just about 30% less than the price of selling the switches in it on their own, desoldered. Shipping cost eats into this greatly, especially being a TKL and thus fewer switches.

Programming the teensy won't be your issue, getting the wiring working will be. You'll need to figure out how the PCB routes the rows and col and then figure out a way to intercept these paths to wire to your teensy instead. Fun as a project, but it'll be a lot of work. There's also no guarantee it will work. If this fails the only way to get it working will be to desolder the PCB and either put your own on or handwire it. Extensive use of a multimeter to verify the integrity of the PCB is going to be required.

In terms of creating a working board, you'll find it more time efficient to mow lawns, buy a plate, switches, PCB and case and build one from scratch.
I typed this post on my Slanck. I also developed a stronger, cleaner, easier handwiring method.

The novatouch is a topre board so no desoldering just disassembly to part it out and the topre mechanism is more a sandwiched assembly and not a discrete switch like mx.

That being said some people might still be interested in buying just the MX compatible topre stems. Not sure what they go for price wise though.

Looking for a price check on a silver logo 88 Model M (1390131). I haven't opened it up to check for any broken rivets, but otherwise everything is in good condition, except a few scratches on the housing. It hasn't been cleaned yet, though :P Also, is it plausible that someone would trade this for a Model F PC/AT (or even the terminal one)? I'd like to try the capacitive buckling springs, and the 2KRO on this one gets to me sometimes.

Depends on buyers opinion of Ivan, I'd say.

Some would say nothing, but I paid $75 and shipping for a similar set recently. Given that IMSTO is better than Gateron, I'd say $80-90 is fair.

Ivan's Round 3 Black on Black Dyesub?

Depends on buyers opinion of Ivan, I'd say.

Some would say nothing, but I paid $75 and shipping for a similar set recently. Given that IMSTO is better than Gateron, I'd say $80-90 is fair.

imsto uses Gateron caps now.

I don't think he did for Ivan R3.

R3 caps came from plum IIRC. But I also seem to recall something about plum caps being the same as gateron.

I know the caps in question are scoop+bar homing, if that helps narrow it down. Don't know of many manufacturers that make that style of homing key.

I thought R3 was the first set he used Gateron on?

Edit:Did some digging and found this (Ignore dates as the thread is locked and I had to put together the quotes)
Oh I know but the wait time would be immense. I will be in the Dark Wave GB for sure regardless.

Ivan is using a different manufacturer for the new round (Gateron) and he said he expects the turnaround time to be much shorter.

It's the same manufacturer actually... just now dealing with them directly instead of through a 'wholesaler' middle company which caused all the dumb delays on this one.

I have AVAILABLE:
3x sets of blanks

So Plum was a wholesaler of Gateron.

That's some excellent detective work. I think I'll go for $80 + shipping then.
Thanks everyone. :)

Ahoi there,

looking to sell this as it is rather disgustingly yellow and reeks of smoke, even though it is the only vintage blues board I have and I would love to keep one around, but it is only really good for the switches. Caps are ABS, partly double-shot but have also turned disgustingly yellow so not really worth much, I suppose. Really it probably boils down to what the 102 vintage blues are worth...

All keys, caps, LEDs, feet and the cable are fully intact, it is a joy to type on, except for having smelly fingers afterward.

Here's how someone else described this board:

Quote
From the sticker:

    brand: AUVA
FCC ID: HWI-A2-KB21012 (manufacturer is A2 Technology Co., Ltd.)
    made in Thailand

Case features tiles between inverted-T arrow cluster and navigation sixkey, just like Chicony KB-5191, but the sides aren't protruded. There's an AT-XT switch under one foot; feet aren't rubberized. The case is held together by three screws on the bottom. Four green indicator diodes are above the tenkey, surrounded by a dark-grey black-framed sticker with two-line labels.

There's no plate. Genuine (vintage) Cherry MX Blue switches are PCB-mounted, and so are Cherry stabilizers. Big-ass/AT Enter is stabilized using one horizontal stab (2x) and an extra stem on the top.

1x keycaps are doubleshot, the rest is printed. Profile is OEM (with number-row profile on the function row), thin/medium thickness ABS.

At last but not least, the PCB is among the cleanest I've ever seen, along with outstanding soldering quality.

The layout is 102-key ISO-DE w/ big-ass/AT Enter and 1x Backspace.

Thanks for any pointers!

Sounds like classic Cherry. Are the stabilizers screw-in?

New DSA Hana base kit?

$75?

Filco Majestouch 2 104 w/ browns. Keys are worn out so they will need new keycaps.

I'd list it for $120 but I'd take $100 for it. 104s don't go as quickly as TKLs.

Topre yellow/orange blank keycap sets?

I wouldn't sell my pink one with legends for under $250, and I don't even have the numpad to go with it.

So at least $250.

Someone tried selling it at 500 and no bit it seems. Might have a hard time trading it since people tend to want other Booper stuff for Keywoks plus it being topre.
