Also, if there are more than 15 sets ordered, price will drop to $385.

Closing in on 15?

Nope..

It's definitely unassembled
I think we just gotta find our own switches and pcb mount cherry stabs
And anyone got tips as to where to buy square LEDs? Mouser?

I'm also including PCB Plate alone now. It'll cost the same as on kbd4u webstore.

Stabilizers won't be for sale nor would assembly.

Is there a MOQ? Or just a decrease in price with orders over 15.

Some more specs on the PCB and Plate>

1. What controller is the PCB using?
2. Are the "flood" LEDS... i.e. the LEDs being used to illuminate the bottom exterior of the housing... are those SMD?
3. does the plate support switch mods?

And then concerning the manufacturer: "DUCK" is written all over this stuff... is this being produced/designed by the same people who make Ducky Keyboards?

AFAIK, they should be SMD LEDs since they are on the Lightsaver and Butterfly Pad.

Duck =/= Ducky.  Duck is just the name, kind of like KMAC, LifeZone (LZ), FMJ (Feng), and so on.

1. ATMega 32U4 for the LightSaver--unsure about this, but some reference.

2. SMD LEDs for the side, see this thread for info:
http://geekhack.org/index.php?topic=53942

3. No, at least not for the LightSaver.  You need to assemble your switches fully before inserting them into the plate, or you won't be able to close the top.

I've been told he'll hold a group buy for the 60% in a month or so for the Koreans. Maybe it will be around that time for us?

Who knows, on the other thread someone said they need to reach 100 MOQ...

That would be sweet

Well that's a really awesome board. It has a very clean and detailed finish. The price is really over the top though considering it's without acrylic stuff, switches, caps, etc. I understand that this stuff isn't cheap and fully custom designed but that's not hobby-range for me anymore ^^ Also the keyboard angle is way too high for me.
Anyways, nice job! GLWGB!

Same price of KMAC2 and less than an LZ-FE, much more than a GON or a Kaliet, the absence of the acrylic piece is really disappointing. But really a beautiful kb

I think they mean that it's clear why the price is at the level it is, and it's not more expensive than equivalent kits--perhaps even less considering all the features.

I mean that the quality of materials and the high level of craftsmanship of those "top" keyboards can be seen even from the photos and it's been reported vastly around here

I have to admit, the wording is pretty vague.  It's still unclear if you're including this keyboard into your "top" list or not :)  Anyway, seeing as I own a LightSaver (typing on it right now), I can attest to the great quality of Duck's work.

Yup!  Media thread here and a flickr album here.  It's got SIP sockets in every switch, and I've been meaning to settle on a final color combination, but been too busy.  The magenta and teal LEDs are getting taken out for sure.

The Lightsaver was actually a pretty good deal considering how much the Orion costs shipped.

Not really sure what justifies the 100$ difference.

The LightSaver just has the bottom "tray" of a case.  The Orion has a top aluminum cover, which means more aluminum, more machining, more finishing, anodizing, inspection, tc.

Does anyone know if the PCB will fit in a KMAC2? I see that it's been designed by the same person for the KMAC 1.4 PCB...I know that I'll need to trim the bottom of the PCB though O_O.

Edit, the left side of the PCB where the ESC key looks too wide...visually.

I'm undecided on color, silver on grey, black on grey or all grey.
The grey in http://duck0113.tistory.com/80 seems different from the grey of the Viper in http://duck0113.tistory.com/81
