Matches are going out tonight.  I have to do 50+ PMs, so it will take a while.  If you have a problem, drop a line in this thread and I'll PM you to see what's up.

So it's getting toward the end of the first of October and there's no Secret Santa thread.  So I decided to be proactive and get this started. 

To start, I really want to discourage people just in it to get something cool and marginally participate.  We've had people in the past who signed up just to get cool stuff and either didn't send anything on, or sent junk on to someone.  That said, just because you're not financially well off doesn't mean you can't sign up and make something cool for someone.  Remember, Secret Santa is about giving, giving what you feel comfortable giving, and giving something from the heart that you really think the other person will like.  You're trying to find something thoughtful based on what you know about them.  Some of the best gifts I've ever received were made by someone and most of my gift last round was hand made by me since I was unemployed at the time.

Rules

• You must have 100 posts and be an active member
• You must send your package with tracking
• You can pick a region to ship to
• Each person will be paired up with one other person.  That doesn't mean you can't send your own Secret Santa on to someone else, just that each person in the Secret Santa will only be paired up with one other person.
• You must mark your package as from Secret Santa.  Remember, this is a surprise.
• No opening your package until at least Christmas Eve.  When you do open it, be sure to post pictures
• You must post pictures.  It's a huge bummer when someone gets a Secret Santa gift and doesn't acknowledge it.   It can be a potato picture, but post something just so everyone knows it got there.
• All Santa pairings will be revealed on Christmas day
• Sign up lasts until November 15th to give a little more time to find stuff and packages must be shipped no later than two weeks before Christmas.  Remember, mail is slow this time of year and we want it to arrive in time.

In the google doc, you give a little info about yourself to help out your santa. And youll know their screen name so you can stalk their posts and try to figure out what they like. Like, by reading your posts I know youd love a jack o lantern CC. Its part of the fun finding out what to get them.

One of my favorite things I've ever received through GH Secret Santa is a hand written letter with hand drawn elves. I have the elves framed now. Last year someone sent me a slide rule which was incredible. I love that someone took the time to go through my posts to figure out something I would like. It's all about the little things .
