I'm definitely going if I can get off work. It's around a 15 hour drive for me. If I do go, I am definitely going to Charlotte on Sunday to ride the new Fury 325 roller coaster which is the tallest and fastest traditional steel coaster in the world.    I think mechanical kb enthusiasts can also make great roller coaster enthusiasts. Both have plenty of clacking!

If anyone needs a ride to this let me know. I'll only be in Raleigh for the day/night, and will be traveling among one of these routes:

I-20 to I-95 to I-40

OR

I-77 to I-85 (can pick up around/near 485 too) to I-40. (this route is much longer for me, just FYI)

Should have plenty of room for keyboard stuff too :)

Looks like this will just have to be a day trip for me, though I should be able to chill afterwards for a while.

Hi guys long time Charlotte lurker here, my keyboard hobby is pretty much just on and off so I dont really have an extensive collection, looking at the list what I have someone else already has. I would love to join and drool in jealousy so to make it up for the lack of keyboard contribution I can come with pizza.

Don't tell me to man up!  I'm, like, totally a man already!  :(  I just don't like the idea of traveling light (which I will be doing) and facing inclement weather.  I may be able to bring a jacket, but not much.

This weather though. Hopefully the torrential downpour doesn't start until after the meetup.

Edit: So, uh...state of emergency declared for North Carolina eh?

Hey All,

I know we are looking at some interesting weather over the weekend, but no chance this will be cancelled on my end  :thumb:

Should you get stuck for some reason, my house is open to stay at.

Also, if you want my cell before coming up, just PM me.

Hope to see you all there!

Forecast is looking a bit better. The hurricane is staying out to see and the worst of the rain is supposed to come tonight (Thursday). Still calling for rain Saturday, but at least it doesn't look like it will be biblical anymore.

I more than likely will not be able to come due to the weather and my father not being comfortable with me driving that far alone with the weather like it's supposed to be, hopefully it lightens up so I can come though

When they are the last grandparent standing... the parents feel obligated.  I dunno if you've been there but it's not a very happy thing for me.

I'm forced to have a bday every year, though I did sneak by a few years ago without anyone knowing/remembering it was my bday and it was a gloriously normal day.

ALSO IN REGARDS TO TOMORROW:

Not sure how rainy it will be, but my porch and cooking on the porch looks like it probably wont happen for lunch. So I propose we just rearrange the schedule a bit and hit up the Mall/Food Court/Dave And Busters together as a group right after for some food and fun, and after that anyone left standing (probably 5ish?) Is more than welcome back to the house to continue looking at keyboards, trading stuff, etc.

Are we still a go for chilling to some vinyl?

Chill to vinyl in the middle of the mall, dawg.

Alll afternoon mang. I figure eating/games for a few hours then my place for the evening and people can trickle out anytime or stay as late as they want.

Outside of Hoff, anyone for sure need a place to stay? If so PM me just so I have a count. Just FYI I have to work sunday morning now so wakeup time will be like 715 haha. I know, ouch.

I'm not a fan of sleeping though so hanging out all night is still definitely a thing  :thumb: Just wanted to give those that may need a place to stay a heads up about that

Good news everyone. My keyboards do not contain explosives. The TSA was kind enough to check for me. I didn't even have to ask!
