nmb rt8255c? for sale (qty3)

Hey,

*** EDIT ***

Thought it went w/o saying, but these are mechanical clicky switches. I used to call them black magic switches, but I think they go by space invader around here.

***********

I've got 3 nmb boards for sale. I loved these boards, but switched to a filco cherry blue about a year ago.

I can email you pics if you are interested, but here's what they are:

1.
nmb rt8255c or maybe 8255c+
fcc id: aq6-oakz15
at interface
straight cord

case has yellowed evenly

Need medium cleaning, I pulled it apart yearly and blew out with air so it's decent. Dirtiest thing are the keycaps themselves. Nothing alcohol/water and a qtip can't handle.

One switch on numpad doesn't always read. Think it's either 1 or 4, but can't remember. This is what prompted me to find a modern board.  Switch reads 90% of the time so maybe cleaning is all it needs.

Was daily board used for 12 years.

2.
nmb rt8255c or maybe 8255c+
fcc id: aq6-oakz15
at interface
straight cord

case has yellowed evenly, not as much as #1 though

Used daily for 8 years or so. No known problems. Light cleaning needed.

3.
nmb rt8255c or maybe 8255c+
fcc id: aq6-oakz15
at interface
straight cord

no yellowing at all that I can tell

needs light cleaning

has 2 holes drilled in top of case, all the way through. they are about 1.25" from side of case and .75" from top. Have inspected internal parts. Holes are well clear of inside stuff. Was used to mount board to wall for server room. Holes do not look bad or anything.

I would rather not split these up. Prefer to sell all at once if possible.

Price? Not sure. There that guy on ebay selling these for $50 each. Figure  #1 is worth less than the others, but 2 and 3 are fine.

Make offer?

Thanks,

J

#1's yellowing has some "shadow" to it. I sat by a window and you can see the shadows of the keycaps. The shadows aren't as yellow. Sort of neat...

It's easiest to see above the numpad.

In case you didn't know, these are the 'space invader' mechanical switches.

Hold your horses. It has only been a day.
As a general rule for myself, I would leave an ad up for at least a week before giving up.

I would love to get one myself, but with the cost of shipping it might not be worth it just for trying it out (I suppose that you are in the US).

I'd say this about them. Don't buy them if you've never tried one. You'll love it and then be unable to find replacements.

These are really for someone who needs spares or replacement parts.

I hate 'not knowing where my next meal is coming from'. Try not to get attached to something that's out of production.  When the number key got a little flaky I found an almost-as-good replacement (filco cherry blue clicky) and never looked back.
