I had this project to make a keyboard out of marble for a few years and after finally making my own, I also want to leave this opportunity to others.
Marble is not a common material in the keyboard community, while it definitively has its place on a desk, as a fancy and luxurious material.
For that purpose, as MarbleK, we worked hard to popularize marble wrist rests and we released multiple series of marble wrist rests of different colors: White/Black/Coral Pink/Green/Grey and more will come.
We are here today, to announce the GB for a limited 20 piecesof the FirstSlab60.

Specs of the FirstSlab60:
- 60% tray mounted case, supporting the widely available DZ60 (from kdbfans and other local resellers)
- Removable PCB mounts with rubber damper, to give some flex to this tray mount.
- This case is made of one block of the well-known Italian Carrara marble. This mesmerizing marble is white with some grey veins.
- Each piece will look unique thanks to randomness of this natural material.
- This case has a typing angle of 5 degrees, with its silicon feet.
- A heavy weight of 2.8kg (6.2 lbs.) for the case alone. Definitively, it will not move on your desk.
Price:
- FirstSlab60 Keyboard Case: 280USD
- (optional) Carrara Marble Wrist Rest to fit perfectly the design and size of the keyboard case: 65USD (I also need to add +10USD for shipping because it is almost 1.5kg)
- Shipping:
FirstSlab60 Keyboard Case will include:
The marble case (hopefully), the metal plate (stainless steel) + the metal feet (aluminum), the rubber damper on these feet, the silicone feet and a few small things.
Therefore, you will still need to get your DZ60 PCB, plate, switches, stabs.
Shipping Date:
As you can see later below, if we took a long time to prepare this GB, it is because we already did most of the work. We expect to ship all pieces in September! (yes, September 2021)
Wrist Rest:
This marble wrist rest is quite massive and will be almost 1.5kg!

GB set up:
There will be a 24 hours registration window for raffle on 13th June, starting at 2pm GMT+1 (Paris) via a Google form.
On 14th June 2pm GMT+1, I will close the google form and send the Paypal Invoices to the ones who got a spot.

Here are some pre-answered questions that you may have:
- How can we be sure this project will deliver without issues?
It is true that some ambitious projects had issues or even failed. So to not have delays or worst, we already made the 20 marble cases:

- How can it survive the shipment?
We now have extended experience in shipping marble wrist rests across the world, so we designed a well protected packaging for this marble keyboard case.
We even tested to ship from Taiwan to France, and the case arrived at destination without any damage or issue.
- How does it sound when typing?
We made a sound test typing video you can find here:
- How does the colors of Carrara marble vary?
From very white to white with strong grey veining.

Curious, if all 20 marble keyboards are already made, what else is left to manufacture? Since you have an estimated ship date of September in your OP.
Probably just has to acquire the plates + other hardware then pack and dispatch. Not unreasonable for that to be 2-3 months from GB end.

Nuap is right about this, it is mostly to receive and do the finish on the metal parts + the packing/shipping and also to make the wrist rests.
But I will also need to travel abroad this summer and Taiwan is currently in soft lock down so it slows down everything :/

Either way, I am also interested in seeing what OP come up with after this initial run. There are market for premium material cases, and considering they specialize in marble, I hope I can see a mixed colors case, as mentioned in a previous comment, I would love to see a case from white and black marble, or even black and green!
Will keep an eye open as well, for I did not win this time around :p

Small update: we have got the wrist rests, the new packaging and a few other things, so we are still on track to start shipping this month :)
But we will start with just a few unit, to make sure that everything is alright.
So, there will be probably some units that will be shipped in October.
