Good to see the site back up!

Anyway, here we go.  New wrist pad is great if you got the space.  It's probably more appropriately an arm rest.

What speakers are those, and where can I get them? :D

These are the old Audioengine A5's.  Not sure if you can find them online any longer.  They're replaced with the A5+ which go for $350.  Very good quality for the price point.

New battlestation: Still in beta phase...
Is it always this neat, or this is just for photo purposes?  Nice speakers and headphones.   What are they?

This is a prototype wrist rest that we make.  I think we're having a few hundred made to see how well they sell.  I'm testing it out to see how it feels.  It's nice to have the continuous surface run from your forearm.  This setup is for people who have enough room to keep their keyboard back a bit though so you can extend your arms appropriately.

I'm interested, what size(s) are these? And have you decided on any specific prices?

I try my best keeping it neat...
Regarding the speakers and audio setup:

Speakers: 2x NuBox 381 + nuBox AW-441 Subwoofer (Hint: Nubert builds awesome speakers which are hard to beat in price-vs-performance, check em out!)
Headphones: Denon D200 (Music), Beyerdynamic DT 770 Pro (Gaming/Movies), Ultrasone HFI-580 (Portable)

Amplifier: Yamaha AX10 (Old, but imo one of the best "affordable" midi sized amplifiers build)
Equalizer: Kenwood GE-1001 (Nice parametric equalizer, but hard to get outside of Japan)
Headphone amplifier / DAC: Teac UD-H01 (Guess I don't have to tell much about it...)

How do you like the SAYL? Did you try any other chairs? I am considering upgrading my office chair for something more appropriate for my back.

Holy ****. That looks so awesome.

Thanks! It was a lot work, I build the desk myself, including the stands with internal lighting etc.
I will probably make a seperate thread with a lot more images including some that show the construction :)

Now I've got a pretty big computing setup, so it's gonna take a lot of photos to cover the whole thing. Here's a few to start--

Here is my main computer for Internet usage:
1268-0

And here's the Macintrashes:
1270-1
1272-2

Here's some more computers:
1274-3
1276-4
1278-5

And here's my latest rainy day computing project--
1280-6
A commodore 64 computer. Everything in the photo works except for the floppy drives. Gotta find one that's working and aligned one of these days so I can run some of the hundreds of software disks I have for it.

I liked the SAYL quite a bit and even sat it in for a while, but I couldn't get over the hardness and sharp edges on the arm rests. I ended up getting an Aeron because the arm rests are super squishy and soft. Obviously not an issue if you're the type that doesn't use the arm rests at all, but I constantly use them.

I also tested the Embody chair a bit but I also didn't like the arm rests. Not to mentioned it costs a lot more. :(

I think someone else gave you a good review of the chair.  I like this chair, but I can't really compare it to anything.  My previous chair was $25 thing from office depot.  I ended up getting this one because the Aeron was too big...in size as well as price!  The Sayl has a firm feel from the cushion to the back rest.  So if you want a chair to sink into, this isn't it.  Arm rest are adequate for me, but I do not use them much.  I keep them low so they can get under the table.

17" wide x 8" deep x 0.75" thick.  Not sure about pricing.  Probably in the $20-$25 range.

Received my speakers today, along with having cleaned up my desk less than a week ago, so now I can join in as well!

The whole desk, my laptop docked under the home-made cardboard keyboard cover

The sub was deeper than I expected, but it worked out anyways, even though the depth of my table is fairly low.

What's that 35(ish)-key pad?  I need something like that at work.  I'll put it on the other side of my mouse, though.  Put some macros and a tenkey on there.... :-)

I think something like that can be done.  Actually had something like that a long time ago.  It was two pieces that interlocked, but it creates the shape you have there.  We should make it again.  Blacks will be in about 4 weeks.

But in a couple of weeks I should be getting a bigger desk that looks like this (I'm building it myself):
Show Image

How'd you join those pieces? Biscuits or dowels? What about the joined seams...too big for a planer/drum sander...

Biscuits and dowels are so 1990's  :D, I routed in a glue joint to each of the maple pieces and two on the purple heart
Show Image

I bought the maple as a 11" wide, 1' thick, 11' board which I cut in half to make those two pieces and then just bought a piece of purple heart that was wide enough to make the desk around 29" wide. Instead of planing, since the wood has a ton of curls/tigering, I used a large area surface sander. It's like a planer but it uses sand paper to take off material rather than knife blades. If we would have used a conventional planer, we would have had a **** ton of chip outs on the boards due to all the curls. After than we let them sit for a week just because we exposed so much surface area. The next week we put in the glue joints and then this weekend I started sanding. I'm guessing I'll have two more weekends of sanding and then one weekend to finish/coat it.

BTW here are some close ups of the maples figuring.

I liked the Embody quite a bit, aside from the sharp edges on the arm rests. My wife, however, was already a little bit upset at wanting to spend so much on an Aeron so I didn't really consider the Embody seriously. I think the Embody is an amazing looking chair though and I might consider getting one eventually.

Einstein was quite a Quotesmith. I only take exception with the word contemptible. Perhaps overrated, or secondary would have been better choices.

I'm sure Einstein wouldn't mind my correcting him. After all, he corrected Newton.
