Inspiration

With my love for math and respect for Leonhard Euler, as well as my passion for Mechanical Keyboard, I combined ideas and designed the GMK Euler Keycap set. Colors are coordinated to create shades like a chalkboard, which is familiar to math learners with its gray-related color scheme. GMK CR and GMK WS1 are colors combo for Modifier Keys. With Alpha Keys I use RAL 9017 in combination with GMK WS1 to create a different feeling compared to Modifier Keys but still have a connection with the main tone. Finally, a few Accent Keys with a combination of RAL 9022 and GMK WS1 representing the chalks while still taking advantage of the GMK’s biggest advantage is the fact that the Legend's color is brighter than the Base color with Double Shot technology.

Regarding the Base Kit, I was too greedy to wish it could cover as much as it could with 1.5u Code keys for Mac user, 40s support, HHKB, 660, ISO and Alice layout support with several additional keys. Of course, Base Kit will also support common layouts like ANSI, WKL TKL, 65%/75% and Numpad.

Novelties are constituted by Euler's two most famous constants. The first one is γ (gamma) called Euler's constant (sometimes also called the Euler–Mascheroni constant), which is defined as the limiting difference between the harmonic series and the natural logarithm. The second constant e, Euler's number, is a mathematical constant approximately equal to 2.71828 which can be characterized in many ways. It is the base of the natural logarithms. With a key with a length of 2.25u, I dedicate it to show Euler’s Identity: 'The Most Beautiful Equation'. At last, to turn ideas into keycaps in a better way, I choose Euler characteristic for side and special keys. It is a topological invariant, a number that describes a topological space's shape or structure regardless of the way it is bent. The polyhedral in novelties are Icosahedron, Tetrahedron, Hexahedron, Octahedron and Dodecahedron.


Deskmat

To talk about Deskmat, it has also gone through a lot of difficult stages to be able to come to the current design. Except for the two drawings at the left and right parts of the design area, all the writing as well as the mathematical equations shown are completely handwritten without using any built fonts.

Last but not least, in collaboration with HIBI, Kate made my idea of a three-dimensional representation of the Icosahedron perfect on their artisan. The GMK Euler & HIBI — Icosahedron is made up of two separate parts, the Base part includes the MX Mount and is anodized in GMK CR. The Icosahedron part is decoupled and anodized in RAL 9022.

My realistic answer is that they will ship in Q1 2024, no later than April 2024 since recently there are not many GMK sets running and GMK is shortening their production time.

If concerns about Captus aren't addressed, there's always the option for US folks to order from Deskhero. I was considering this route myself. Looks like it would only be a couple bucks more after shipping.

Of course, then there's still the question of "what happens to this GB if the US vendor is MIA?"...

The set will be made. Not all the kits But I guarantee that Base, Novelties Kit and Deskmat will definitely be made. HIBI & GMK Euler will be decided later this week. There is a high probability that the Spacebars Kit will not have enough MOQ.
Exact quantities will be added at the end of this week, I will have a follow up announcement when the order with GMK is placed.

As a math fan, I'm really impressed by the GMK Euler Keycap set! It's clear that you have a great love for math and respect for Leonhard Euler, and that really shines through in the design. read a few posts above yours: there is no state, the set barely entered color matching, let alone the production queue yet. yes MK is struggling but they can't relay information they can't possibly have.

Hello everyone, I sincerely apologize for the delay in updating you on the progress of my beloved project. I'm pleased to share the latest developments with you.

We've successfully submitted the final color for GMK, and now we eagerly await its placement in the production queue. No more color matching hurdles to overcome hooray! While the process involved numerous considerations, I'd like to highlight a specific example of our final decision in the image below:

Additionally, the banderole has been completed, and I've always aspired for the packaging design to be something we all take pride in showcasing. I hope my design aligns with that aspiration, as seen in the image below:

The production of desk mats is progressing smoothly, and I haven't encountered any issues with them.

So... what am I looking at?

Two of the colors are stock GMK. Dark grey (Alpha base) and light grey (Accent base) are custom. The latest photo shows the two approved matches - I think two accent keycaps and one alpha keycap - alongside the two stock colors.

I got confirmation from GMK last week that the set should ship to us at Prototypist on Monday (will likely arrive within 10 days or so after that)

Prototypist took over as lead vendor to get the colour matching and design over the line and into production as noted above. GMK hasn’t mentioned that any vendor should not be expecting the set soon but I’ll reach out to them on Monday and see if I can get a clear timeline.

Swagkeys are arranging the deskmat manufacturing so they shouldn’t be too far behind the keyset.

I looked at the Captus Discord after the concerning comments in this thread, and I left with zero confidence in that vendor. Unresponsive owner, unpaid invoices, months of customers asking for updates. Sound familiar?

Prototypist has already paid for Captus GMK sets so we will figure something out for customers.

Plan A is still that Captus will pay us for the sets and handle their own fulfillment.

First, i would like to start with a prompt and much needed apology for my long absence from the project, the community, and our little company as well.
I do not, under any circumstances want to misrepresent or dodge my responsibility in this, so all i will say in this matter is that i have had complicated private and health issues in the last year or so, which made it difficult for me to properly maintain my focus and time on Captus.
Before anything else, i would like to make one more crucial statement: Hudi, my partner, had absolutely nothing to do with the failures and problems of our projects and the company itself. He has done his best at trying to keep things together in my absence, absolutely alone. He had no real overview on company finances and deals as this was my area of responsibility. Hudi has been completely transparent and forthcoming regarding the products we have or will deliver, and about all of the issues were brought to my attention by him.
Here is the dire state of things:
1. Plain and simple: Captus is most likely going to go bankrupt.
I, we are currently trying to do anything and everything to prevent this, even taking on a loan to my name in order to pay the bills to distributors and shipments for projects that were concluded years ago.
This is due to the fact that i have failed to oversee expenses in quiet a long time, and evidently we have had no other business activity (new projects, new income sources, sales going on) during the insane years long group buy-»delivery time span that usually occurs in this business, while our monthly company expenses (various warehouses, subscriptions, accountant, fees, commissions) have slowly burned a hole into our funds, hand in hand with the well known inflation crisis.
2. China has given us exorbitant logistics rates as of late on our shipments, most likely due to us being a tiny tiny client. This killed our reserves and profits big time.

As of right now, we are hoping we will be able to finish up shipping Brutalist, but i will try to avoid making any promises or statements because of the opaque outlook of company finances.
We currently have no chance of paying off Euler without a loan.
Right now, we are in talks with an auditing and business consulting firm in order to receive proper advice with crisis management on bankruptcy and insolvency. Coming up with a strategy for this is our last remaining and realistic shot on completing these long awaited projects that so many of you have been eager to receive.

I am aware how this sounds at this point, but i am forced to I kindly ask of you to sit tight a bit longer, due to the turbulent nature of our company situation.

I’ve been made aware of the announcement from Captus.

Luckily I have the US customers product on hand. whilst Noire is not replying to me directly, one of his discord mods is able to communicate with him.

I’m currently working through options to ensure all Captus customers get their products and I’ll post here and on the Captus and Prototypist Servers once I have something solid to share.

Hey Jae, I'm not sure if this will affect anything but it looks like on Captus's site its still letting people purchase the set.
