Hello and welcome to my GMK "Merlin" IC. If you've been here before, you'll know that this was formerly known as GMK Cerulean Sage. While I like Cerulean Sage as a name better, it makes me think of Pokemon, and I think there's a magic card named after it. Also GMK Merlin is a lot easier to pronounce than GMK Cerulean Sage.

If you've never heard of me before, here's a quick tidbit about myself. I've been part of the community since early 2015 and started my journey as an Alps aficionado. I have run two GBs for the community for Duck weights, I host the MechMerlin YouTube and Twitch channels, and I'm also the QMK Community Ambassador. This is my first foray into the world of keyset design, I hope you like it!

This set is mainly inspired by my favorite colors blue and yellow and my favorite keysets Nautilus and Triumph Adler. I am also a huge fan of light colored keysets.

Colors

I’m very adamant about using GMK stock colors to make the set affordable and also reduce issues with color matching. I am very inexperienced with this, and I would like to point out that I'm partially color-blind when it comes to the color purple lol.

CP White: As seen on GMK Stormtrooper and GMK Olivia
TU1 Blue: As seen on GMK Triumph Adler and Aero
N6 Yellow: As seen on the legends of GMK Nautilus

I don't know about others, but I usually use mod colors on arrow, ESC, and enter keys. So having all that possible in base kit is what I prefer. If sometimes I wanna change to accent color, I would be happy to buy it in a separate kit. Just my 0.02$.

I liked that set too, but I only have one minivan and I couldn't justify paying so much for such a "small" kit.

I'm sorry I didn't take a close look earlier, too.

Is it entirely too late? Would it be feasible to delay not the entire GB, but just the ISO kit, so the omission might be corrected? After all, it's not like it's a custom key for which a new mold must be made.

Curious about the MOQ for the ISO kit too - presumably using stock colours might bring it down a bit relative to other sets? ISO kits tends to struggle in general, so I hope this one gets made.

Each time a change is made, it has a possibility to delay the GB further based on how much longer it takes. There are also associated costs with the changes on kono's end. I can see what I can do but no promises. Also ISO is part of base kit.

pretty sure he mentioned somewhere those keys are just placeholders in the renderings, the real key will have a hat

I can see the '@ (ISO set) key on Kono store render, so i guess it was added last minute ? In which case well done, shows it's possible to include ISO UK on a GMK set without hitching the price up too much...

Awesome! I can't pull up the anodization sample LeandreN shared, but the match is very close. There's a bit of a yellow hue in the Fjell/Klippe's ultramarine, so I think it'll match nicely with the accents and mod legends.

Great to see the missing key added, definitely in for this now. Non-accent ISO enter isn't a big deal for me personally.

This GB concluded some time ago, but I do have plans to do a re-run it at some time in the future. The Spain layout will be considered but no promises.
